Brother, Matt:
"To HIM be all honor and glory!" That is an awesome article, which I am sharing with my on-line Bible Study Group, which tracks from Seattle, to Los Angeles, to NYC to Richmond, VA! Isn't it just amazing how our Lord and Savior provides for us day-to-day. Here it was that sharp knife. And HE had it at hand. What a great rescue. Upon reflection, isn't it interesting that a piece of steel, forged and hammered in flame and fire, then given a keen edge, is usually viewed by the uninformed as something "dangerous" and maybe even unneeded. Not so! If such were the case, what would a surgeon use in his art of healing? And isn't that how the blade of a knife is made=heat, pressure, fire and forging. Then, honed to a fine edge. And so must our lives endure hardship, suffering and privation as we help one another out here on our journey with Christ? Speaking of knives, the Bible, and the "Great Physician," here's a story: my kid sister was recently rushed to the ER, where they found she had a very complicated burst appendix. Quickly wheeling her into the OR, the nurses and staff prayed over her, calling her their "beloved Sister in Christ," seeking his help. WHAT A BLESSING! She made it through and the doc said it was truly touch-n-go. His view:
...thank you, Lord Jesus, for the gift of life for my sister Cheryl... |
