Good work? Bwahahahaha!

I got home last night, wheeled it into the garage, and this is what it looked like...

They didn't bother to clean the grungy aluminum shaving/chain lube paste off the rear wheel. The whole bike had waterspots and greasy handprints all over it.

And also added some nice scratches/gouges to the rear wheel...

Fuck 'em...that's all I can say at this point. The owner messaged me back this evening and offered an apology and to order a new wheel. I've already installed new rim decals and touched-up the paint gouges. I'm just ready to ride it and never darken their doorstep again.

I cleaned it up today and added all the farkles that I had waiting in the garage. Now it's time to put some break-in miles on it...

That dealer has some careless people working there. Please out them if you haven't already.

Edit: enjoy the bike though!

Yup. I'm not a huge stickler on this stuff but those buckles really dig deep down in the paint. I'll get a better setup eventually but this one is free, lol.

I haven't been able to look at it yet to see if all the parts were actually replaced. I can guarantee tomorrow I'll be tearing the bike down to see what else the tech "must have forgotten". They can also forget my future business.

Out of the 23 motorcycles I've owned, this is only the fourth that I've bought new. Perhaps I was expecting it to be a much more magical and surreal experience? Am I being unrealistic or overly demanding to expect a bit more enthusiasm customer-service wise?

I think I would have delivered the bike back to the dealer and demanded a 100% refund.  That shit is inexcusable.

Thanks, I use Max motors sports in Pelham, they suck too. KTM put a new motor (at 14k) in my 1190 Adv due to a leaky airbox. They left off an exhaust clamp, had short screws where long ones go in the fairing, Left off the fuse cover. Replaced my washable airfilter with a paper filter ( they did finally get my filters back to me). These are exactly reason why my bike only goes to the dealer if it's warranty work.

I started a thread on whether or not to FO on a newer V-Strom 1K a month or so ago, and FO'd with a couple of pics. I've put a couple thousand miles on it now, got the mount for my old top case, a windshield that's bigger than the dinner plate sized stock unit, and an acceptable tank bag (a pile of Cortech and Tourmaster bags with magnets and short straps laying around wouldn't fly).
I like it a lot.
