The AK and the KLR are made for each other. Both are old, reliable designs that accomplish their roles adequately.
I hadn't shot the AK in a while to I loaded it up in my old camp chair bag and headed out in the hills. 
Yea, the rifle gets a little dusty and scuffed (I didn't use any other protection except the nylon bag), but who cares? Same goes for the KLR.

Brought home the Scrambler today, the garage is full:
Not all the requested upgrades were installed, so I am going to do the rest myself, couldn't waste another weekend. Waiting on a special tool to install the Andreani fork cartridge kit and the billet foot controls are still 3 weeks out. The 14T front sprocket, the Öhlins shock, bar end mirrors and adjustable billet levers are installed. Fun bike! -k |
