bought this as a salvage to get my feet wet on the track. Ran it a few times but immediately got bored with it. This was before i got the Buell. Now its in piece get fairing and tank repaired/painted. Only pics I have of it are in pieces.

Front fairing post crack repair and sanding. There was a full break top to bottom. Was a pain in the ass but a great learning experience.

naked frame. had to remove the cluster panel to repair the mounts

tank striped and repaired. ready for primer.

The right turn signal is broke. Found some old plexi glass and going to use it to make a base for flush mount signals. A little cheaper than buying a used on off ebay.

Just saw your winter mods pics on the "other" forum. Looks like we have similar duel forum memberships and interests.  Nice ride!

Looking pretty good. I'll admit I'm a little jealous that the ZX6 still has the nice looking 6 spoke wheels. Supposedly the 3 spoke style on my bike is a few grams lighter, but yours look much better. Is the whole bike matte finish? My ZX10 is gloss black and matte white.  I had the M4 GP exhaust on my old Gixxer and it was a little noisy on long rides, but it sounded great when you're on the throttle.

Took about an hour ago, current Mustang seat (may be the one I'm sticking with) and the tank lift and coil/ignition relocation to the other side of the bike.

Looks great!  That Amber Whiskey really does pop in the sunlight and you're on your way with upgrades and mods, install an external breather if you don't already have one and for heaven's sake, get out a hair dryer to warm the adhesive and ditch those reflectors on the forks and rear of the fender, the side rear reflectors just require a simple unbolting...

mgamber,

You, Sir, have impeccable taste in motorbikes!

Here's mine...

Only minor adjustments are the pipes, brakes, and firmer fork springs....

Really is a great bike.

I moved out here to VA and missed my bike so I picked up a 2009 with 500 miles on it. Then I realized we have things like traffic lights and no lane splitting here. While it's fun when I take it out to the sticks and open it up, this is definitely not the right bike for me here.

I think I'm going to sell it and buy a Stryker and a YZ450F (or similar).

Thats probably one of, if not, the sickest Buell's I have ever seen.

And thats coming from a non-Buell rider that tags along with his Buell riding buddy to the Buell meet up at Deals Gap just about every year

Thanks... i have a lot of time (design work and machining) into this bike. Its not everyone's cup of tea but I love it. Ill be riding Deals Gap with it next july!!!!! Although im thinking of changing my schedule around and trying to make the Buell weekend that i think happens in April. We will see. I did everything to the bike from paint, to all the powdercoating, building the custom subframe, wheel conversion, and designed and machined almost every aftermarket part on it. Only thing i didnt do was the seat, sent that out.

Sorry, just saw your post. To answer your question yes the whole bike is a matte finish. The M4 exhaust sounds great, but it hurts after long rides. Earplugs keep it tolerable, but I'll definitely be switching soon.

Whenever you want to switch wheels [with bikes still attached] let me know.

Thanks. There is actually a Top Gear episode where they were looking for the best road in the US and were on the parkway putting at 35. They literally could have hit this section which runs below there with a stone but they moved on. I just lol'd - I'll take these roads over the Snake (been) or the Dragon (never been) any day.

I went by the Triumph dealer over the weekend and drooled over this baby for about 30 minutes. The Ohlins, the Brembos, the quick shifter, the exhaust note these triples make. Me gusta. Didn't think I'd want another sport bike really after my 600RR, but this thing is surprisingly comfy and has a much better power curve for it's engine size. Gonna book a test ride soon.
