Wow jealous of some of these bikes, the white duke and the aprilla tuono especially! Not to mention the GSA and the supermotos. Beauties, that last page has so much win.

Here's my old crusty 600rr

Love the old CBR's. I learned to ride on em (and sadly wreck em) and they will always have a place in my heart.

2005 R1200GS.  It currently has 94K miles and is still pulling hard.  I expect to get as many miles again out of it.  A very comfortable 700 + miles a day ride.

New ride

Unfortunately, there it will sit until the thaw and rains
wash away a Winter's worth PADOT road salt and cinders

Eta:Managed 192 miles so far in three outings where we had above 40 temps after street cleansing rains-
New Years Day, 1/12  and 1/21 for a 120 mile loop including a fifty mile interstate blast back to base.

In another 400 miles break in will be complete and after the servicing CPU re flash, full power will be on tap

update: only another 100 miles to 1000km servicing and then finally twisting it open on a long haul

Would love to take one of those for a spin. If it has enough leg room it should be a near perfect longer haul bike.

I am hoping that it is, this is the bike I hope to keep and love for some time

Most dealers have had demo bikes since July, try and find one that still has theirs

delivery for 2017s is in march/April

Mine was a demo that never saw the road

Slight lean forward, less than the SD R with the GT having the pegs a bit lower and the bar clamps having a second rear mounting
position on the triples and the brackets slightly higher and reversible: overall 25mm higher and up to 30mm to the rear iirc.

Mine are currently set in the rear holes but the brackets aren't flipped back. It seems fine for my 5' 10"once 5'11" slightly aged self

I hesitated on the SD-R and waited for the GT because it didn't seem quite there for a fifty year old man who will do 180 miles of interstate then a 80
mile  leg of national and state hywy to and from their brother and old friends for weekend rides.

people in Europe are doing some much longer days on these with no problems, though some 6' plus folks have commented about kneeing the tank a bit in the cut outs
when maneuvering in a spirited manner, while others haven't

Its not the long sled that a FJ1300 is for sure, the seating position is limited as you can probably see.

I have the better heated KTM power parts seats on order, The driver one is supposed to have a bit more cushion and allow the legs to grip in tighter through the front

here's a video of one of the more well publicized  jaunts

I'll report back in the Spring

This is from a couple weeks back after getting it registered - it's first time on the road in 17 years :) I added stainless brake lines for front and rear, and finally have the carb properly jetted but otherwise it's the same. Just gonna ride it this summer before I make any final changes then decide on what color paint or powdercoat.

I have the .30M1 scabbard for it. I'm running the bike here in Germany, that pouch would get me pulled over by the local Polizei every half mile, checking me for guns...

That brings back memories. The first time I rode anything other than my Trail 90 was when my father put
me on a Trophy and had me ride figures in sand without being allowed to take my feet off the pegs. I was 10 and learned
quickly about position, throttle and steering input by way of quite a few moments like yours.

Hope your panniers made it through and wish I was out there at the moment doing that instead of winter bound
in dank old SW PA with three bikes sitting idle

My bucket of bolts in it's many forms.

Just for cruising around town.

Trip taking mode with hard bags.

Old wheels and up in the ozarks.

Nothing special. 04 FXST, GMR 98" motor with ported GMR heads, SS .510 cams, TTS master tune, V&H Pro Pipe 2-1, Barnett clutch spring, DNA fat spokes, sometimes cycle vision hard bag setup, various seats depending on what I'm doing, extended rear fender, other crap. I'll keep this one forever. I've had a lot of other bikes since I first climbed on one over 2 decades ago but I freakin love this bike. I'll buy another for a different purpose at some point but this one will stay with me til I die.

Decided to lose a few more pounds this winter by adding a little more XR.

XR1200 crank, sent off to Darkhorse Crankworks for lightened flywheels (-4lbs of rotational mass). Balanced, blueprinted, and welded 1.5” crankpin:

Carrillo rods:

Purchased a flywheel scraper/windage kit:

XR1200 34T front sprocket installed on my Drag Specialties alternator rotor:

S&S premium lifters:

Also installed some S&S cylinder studs to beef up the top end and Rocker Lockers while the motor was torn down.

Took it to the local shop for a dyno break-in. The dyno sheet shows an increase in peak HP, which could be just a variance in dyno/room/day. But the torque curve is now much improved from previous dyno runs. The interesting bit is the curve above 6200 RPM - previously this was quite flat/concave and rapidly declining (effects of wet sumping at high RPM), whereas now it is convex and definitely shows the scraper doing its thing. The new S&S premium lifters may also be contributing by offering up much better performance at high RPM than the stockers:

It really spins up quickly now, but I need to play around with the timing on the quick shifter - it’s a tad slow on the ignition kill time (75ms). Going to try it at 50ms.

Finally, one thing I never really like on bikes are cheap tank logos. I got rid of the one on my 675R, and finally did the same for the Iron by painting the tank. I also ditched the awful Black Diamond plastic grips and went back to the much better stock rubber grips:

Specs:
485lbs, 105HP/92TQ Hammer Performance 1250/Smash Heads, 30° reverse-dome pistons, 10.75:1 CR, XR1200 Darkhorse Crankworks lightened/balanced/blueprinted crank assembly w/Carrillo rods, Yankee Engineuity windage tray/crank scraper, Rocker Lockers, Air Hammer w/K&N A/C, SE .575 cams, S&S premium lifters, S&S cylinder studs, Baisley ported intake manifold, Drag Specialties alternator rotor w/XR1200 34T sprocket, Drag Specialties ISO motor mounts, D&D Bobcat exhaust w/concentric baffle, STM slipper clutch/Müller Power Clutch/Energy One extra plate kit, MPS Racing Quick Shifter with custom mount from Chainsikle, custom Trac Dynamics aluminum swingarm, Chainsikle rearsets with custom mounts, Oberon foot pegs, custom 14" Ricor IAS shocks/Intiminators/RaceTech fork springs, Roadster dampers & side stand, custom anodized GLIDE forged aluminum wheels (10.75lbs RR, 9.75lbs FR), Avon Storm 3D XM ZR radials, XR1200 front caliper/floating rotor, Braking Wave XR1200 rear rotor, EarthX lithium battery, Burly Clubman bars, Rizoma Spirit bar end mirrors, Rough Crafts Guerrilla fiberglass rear fender, HD Dual speedo/tach & ergo's - Bikini Fairing/Chin spoiler/Brawler seat. Eats twinkies for breakfast.

A buddy of mine is selling his 2015 ZX10 for one of those things.
If he can't find a buyer for the ZX10 when R6 comes in he's going to trade it in.
If the ZX10 were a 2017 I would have bought it from him.

Just a guess, but 15 was the last year of the old model from 2011. The new one, 16+, has a ridiculously advanced electronics system, in addition to the countless updates to the intake, exhaust, transmission, etc.
