They have their issues too. The old 5.4's suffered from timing chain issues as well.

And oil consumption!

Didn't they also have issues breaking spark plugs when you change them?

And cam phasers.

They also suffered from the dreaded no horsepower whatsoever problem.

2012 F150 w/ Ecoboost. It went in for the timing chain rattle and I should get it back in 2 days. Hopefully this cures the issue and it doesn't happen again. I wanted to have it done before the warranty ran out....

The new cam phasers are the latest and greatest ones. We haven't seen any come back making noise yet.

Just got the call from the dealership. The timing chain work is done but they found the front pinion seal leaking and want to keep it another day. I told them I am in no hurry and to tell the tech thanks for being observant.

That's code for the tech dropped something inside the motor and it's in pieces in the bed of your truck...j/k

Mine had the dreaded generation 1 displacement on demand. AKA driving down the road and the spark plugs shoot out of the heads and put a dent in the hood.

ETA
I am looking at new trucks right now and the new ecoboost is high on my list.
