Well, I guess I done gone and messed up now.

I work at a Ram truck dealership, but needed a cheaper truck for doing, well, truck stuff.

Customer traded in a 2012 DoubleCab SR5, with 26k on it.  4x4, some nice stuff but not super fancy.

I have been amazed at the number of 'off color' comments about the truck.  Its built in Texas, from 80+% US Sourced parts, but somehow its a foreign piece of shit.  LOL at people

I like it though, but honestly it doesnt seem to drive as nice as the Rams, and doesnt seem to be as quiet, but itll do.

Anyone have one and have any opinions?

Looks like this, with nicer factory wheels:

I approve of your choice

From everything I have read, you have a better truck now.

I got it for trade value + 400 for dealer prep/pay the lot techs/pay the office ladies/pay the light bill etc

$23400 plus tax.

Im sure thats not stealing it, but i am 100% sure its exactly what we gave the guy on trade, and the local Toyota store offered us profit to "lay it off" to them.

I asked for the deal and they agreed.

Working at dealerships... well... sucks.  In my experience, if you don't drive the company brand, you will likely be looking for a new job sooner or later.

Yeah, the door's are thin, and the dashboard bounces maniacally on a washboard road, but I like mine.

Do not like the sealed xmsn either.

Have you looked at work new full size 4x4 trucks go for? Toyota's hold their value extremely well so that is a pretty good price for that truck.

In general Toyota needs to stop putting on street tires on their trucks.

Love nine, and couldn't be happier with it! I'm planning a 3/1 lift and some 295 tires for mine, as well as a new grill and blacking out the front and rear bumpers.

I get what you are saying, but I needed something reliable with low mileage so I could afford to keep the Vette.

Responsibility be damned.

I'm just a massive cheap-a$$, and I interpret 'truck stuff' to mean things that sometimes tend to de-value something (think really brushy forest service roads, etc).

My 96 chevy is starting to give me headaches, so I would love to have a truck like that (8ft bed of course).  However I would then need a 'cheap' truck for the abusive stuff (think 80's beater)

Yes, they can get stupid expensive.  Just did a quick build at $34k (not counting all the extra taxes and bs) for a 2016 Tundra equipped how I would want it on the Toyota site.

I don't doubt that's a good price for the truck he bought, I'm just horribly cheap.

About 2 months ago I picked up a crewmax 2012. Life long Chevy/ gmc guy. I like it so far. This truck has Borla dual exhaust and k@n intake. Sounds cool. My 12 year old daughter loves the truck and the sound it makes

The 20 inch wheels are strange to me but I think I will get used to the truck. It has a stiff ride so bumps seem amplified vs my 2003 GMC. Time will tell but my friends are still in shock I bought a yota!
