I sent mine out as a donation for my buddy's borrowed gear bin in CA (see previous pics), my and her new ones we supposed to be here in time, but they weren't. I completely agree, we were taking it VERY easy due to our lack of footwear. ETA: Boots arrived! some Forma's should be a big improvement!

I put 25k offroad miles on a little TTR250, simple little trail bike that it was, and had a ball on it. |

At the same time I bought this bike I bought a CRF125F Big Wheel for my two boys. Yeah, they have to share because I had to have a bike of my own. In a few years if I want to step up I can give the 230 to my boys and move to a 250. |

Nothing wrong with that. You gotta start somewhere. Have fun and be careful. And don't cheap out in safety gear. Work boots are not good riding boots if you value your ankles.

View Quote That's the thing I tell everyone who wants to start out on a bigger bike - the first bike is sacrificial, while you're riding and having fun on it and getting more skills (faster), you're just working towards the bike you're going to end up on. Best case? You find you like a smaller bike and you just stay put. Worst case? You give it to your kid or sell it for close to what you paid for it...and you're a better rider for it. But, few people listen. |

I ride MX tracks. The 250 is popular there because you can race it against the 250F's as an amateur.
50 hp in a bike that weighs 225 wet. That's a good combo. |

2009 KLX250 on a Dodge Dakota with a Cycle Country Wedge Lok rack. I've got around 2000 miles on that rack I guess - no problems as long as I pay attention to the same clearance issues you would watch with a trailer. Off to "the range" with an SLR-107FR. Rockbridge Baths, permission from farmer: "mind the gates and don't tell me if you get hurt back there." Little Mountain wildlife management area. Gates, psha. Saw my first black bear in the wild out here. Or rather, it's big round shiny backside jiggling up the hill as it went the other direction. Custm Taylor rim tapes - awesome product, about $40/set, and he can do all kinds of custom decals, and will often throw in some extras with your order. Proof I'm not a beer snob. |
