If you ask me, people tend to go too big with the lifts and tires on jeeps IMO. I guess that's fine for a dedicated trail rig but for a dual/all purpose jeep, that seems to be the right amount of looks/performance gain/practicality.

I'm running 3", which is on the low side, but doesn't rub.

Im running 3" w/  3/4" spacers in the front. It rubs alittle at full flex with the sway bar disco'd. Im planning a small body lift to prepare for a tummy tuck. So that should take care of my rubbing

That dent is fairly substantial.

I've had a lot of little ones, but that sucker is big.

My Rubicon has been down the last couple of weeks to a few issues so we've taken the Cherokee Trailhawk and my mom's JKU out the past two weekends.

We went through some fairly deep mud in the Trailhawk and it did surprisingly well.  It was interesting being in a group consisting of multiple makes and models.

Went out and did the Back Road to Crown King yesterday with a trio of JKU's.

No action shots (I do have a video I'll push to YouTube, though).

Babied it a little because of the Gas Tank Skid. There's a Savvy sitting in the Garage, but I couldn't install it before I went.

Guy on the left is standing on Ice. In Arizona. We saw it and stopped. We're weird that way.

Got the only Video that was taken with my phone of me up to YouTube.

We'd just come up the previous obstacle. I had come up that one 4th, but this one first so everyone else could back down the bypass and start up this one.

And another driver got the closest thing to an Action Shot of me that any of us got...

ETA: I'm using one of the Youtube filters to take the shaking out, but it takes time. So this Vid will probably get smoother.

I'm going to be installing Ruff stuff frame stiffener and possibly their diff covers, TNT long arms, regearing to 4.56, some type of locker on the front and rear, I have a cargo rack I need to install, 1 ton steering, adding a second battery, fron t bumper and winch, rear tire carrier bumper, and some lights. I deploy a lot and I only get two months back home so I don't get a lot of time to work on it since the wife keeps me busy when I get back so it will be slow going. I do plan to have it done by the end of 2016.....I hope.

Nice!  How do you like the Vortek Supercharger and how does it handle low speed and rpms while doing some technical trails?   Using it on a 3.8L or 3.6L?

Unless he changed motors, it's a 3.8. The 3.6 started in 2012.

Oh, ok.  They looked bigger than stock in the first photo.  Just got the wife a jku and have been looking at different possibilities in the future as far as bigger tires, and maybe a lift.  Just what she needs.

Don't forget the gussets and trusses.

I paid a hair over $900 to replace all 5 stock MT tires from Sam's club with an $80 instant rebate. That also includes lifetime balancing, rotations, and flat repairs.

3.21  I'm not really going to do that though.    Biggest I'd go with that would be 33s or so.  I wonder how much of a pain in the ass it is to upgrade the gears if I went that route?  I've also been looking at all the sweet front bumpers.  Looks like it would be best to go aluminum so the front doesn't sag, etc.  But it's pretty damn expensive.

You'd be looking at $1,500 more or less depending on the shop. Depending on the new gear size, you may need a new carrier as well. Yeah, I priced those aluminum bumpers.... $1,200 bucks per bumper.

Single handedly the best upgrade you can do to the Jeep is regear to the optimal gear ration for your tire size.

I am on 35's and running 4.88 of my 4.0 5 speed TJ.... (damn it has a lot up upgrades and gears are the best... well worth the expense!!!)

Very true, nothing is more disappointing than imagining your really cool off road machine and then getting in it and being passed by every 4 cylinder car on the road.

Next best upgrade will always be a front locker.  That goes for any 4wd.

That goes for any 4wd.

yep, tax time is regear/lunchbox front/ maybe 33s   (for the XJ)

4.10 is perfect for 33's in the XJ. (Brings it back to stock if yours is 3.55) My wife geared hers to 4.10 about a year ago. I had to put the 34 tooth back inside afterwards. Speedo verified with GPS. Her gas mileage is the same as stock. I had 4.10 in my TJ and it was good with 33's, 'specially compared to 3.07 that it was originally geared. When I stepped up to 35, 4.10 worked, but any hill and I was downshifting, and any headwind on the interstate and I lost steam. I would have probably been suited with 4.56 but if I ever went 37's then I did not want to re gear a 3rd time

I would not lock the front with a auto locker if it is my DD and you drive in ice and snow. I went Trutrac's in both diff's...I am very happy with my choice!

Been working on the ZJ.  Built a rear number last weekend, should really help the departure angle and adds two hard points for clevises.

what is a trutrac? Everyone I know around here says grab a lunchbox for front. I'm not ready for ARB coin yet.
