I do believe you are missing some above 6m gear…

Had a similar Hi-Lift mount on my Samurai. Page 4 has my current HL setup on my XJ…used to be on a Yakima rack but I wanted my extra 3 MPG back and more room for antennas. No HF gear in mine…

You reminded me to post this picture…of how my rifle usually rides.

Went on a Toys for Tots benefit ride at Ivy Branch trail of Hatfield McCoy Trail system Saturday.  It was a little sloppy, too wet to get very many pics, unfortunately.

Couple screen captures from a video.  I don't know how to cross post SpaceBook videos.

Absolutely!

I have a question.  I'm new to Jeeps, and recently purchased a 2015 Sahara Unlimited.  While I'm looking forward to some of the "milder" (?) trail rides in this area, I was told by a Toyota 4runner owner that I would still need extensive work on my Jeep for trail rides.  I doubt that, though aside from my Jeep not being a Rubicon, how much would that limit my trail excursions?

Thanks!

I've seen some trails in Colorado…stock CJ's, MJ's, XJ's, ZJ's, SJ's, etc would be just fine but once you got into the WK's, WK2's, KJ's, KK's, and the 4 door JK's you started rubbing skids, hitting things with the front bumpers/air dams and in one case a saw a WK2 with temporary tags "rub" a rock that punched through the skid and oil pan (he only made it a 1/4 mile further down the trail).

It really just depends on the trails. IFS guys are really ones to talk though…

Think the first thing would be the tires that come on the Sahara.

Thanks.

Apache Lake; Burnt Coral Campground.

I was gunning for Upper Burnt Coral wash, but the Forest Service had it closed last weekend.

My (f'ed up) build thread is here. I've got some more pictures on the last page. I actually can carry a 12' fishing boat in that sucker.

You should come up with a way to mount an empty beer can to the tire like that first picture…and drive like that. Or open a beer from the bottom with a drill and then go from there.

Ride height, factory tires, and lack of lockers.

Fixing the first two will get you through anything that you wouldn't be saying "oh hell no, I just bought this thing".  2-3in spring lift, 33-34in rubber (Goodyear Duratracs or Cooper ST Maxx for crossovers, ATs I like Cooper AT3's or Nittos (new KO2's are supposed to be good too), MTs would be KM2's or MT-R/Ks.

If you want to run 35's, strongly suggest gusset and sleeve kit for front and rear.

Already get pulled over enough with the combination of out of state plates, a ridiculously loud stereo system, and having an AR or two strapped to the roll bars in the summer.

Bought my late grandpas' Cherotruck over Christmas week.

1987 Commanche MJ, 2WD, auto, short bed.  120k miles.

This is my first Jeep. Needs a little attention but nothing major.

You don't see many MJ's around (at least in Texas) anymore. Cool find, especially at such a low mileage.

Looks great. But what it really needs is a 4x4 Cherokee donor vehicle.

Yep, that's the plan. HP30, NP242, and an auto from a Cherokee.  Gotta cam the Cadillac and put heads on the truck first but it should be done sometime this upcoming year.

This was my fourth of five Jeeps - a 2010 Mountain Edition and 2.5" lift.

I wish I would've kept it and it was sorely missed once it was gone.
