My wife's '07 Steel Blue Metallic JKU Sahara (w/leveling kit, 33s, Spidertrax spacers, RS9000XL shocks, MBRP exhaust, auto and factory 4.10s) parked next to my latest toy, an '07 Billet Silver JKU X (w/Rock Krawler 2.5" lift, Rancho shocks, 20" chrome XDs, 35x12.50-20 Toyos, sliders, auto, factory 4.10s and a few other things).
 Before I get all the shit about chrome 20s on my Jeep, let me say that THEY WERE ON THERE WHEN I BOUGHT IT!  I'll change them out for black wheels when it's due for tires. Until then I have other stuff to spend my money on.

I've posted a bunch of pics of my wife around here, but here's another one... Range time with a G19:
 I've contemplated the Palsti-Dip, but I'm still planning on some black 18" wheels at some point. As for the RS9000XL shocks, they are the best money I've spent on the Jeep so far! The difference from the stock shocks was noticeable enough that after driving it for the first time with the new shocks, she (unprompted) said, "Man. Those new shocks are awesome!" And I haven't really played with the adjustments yet. They're currently set on the out-of-the-box factory settings (5 in the front and 4 in the back), and I can't find a good enough reason to change them. The PO of my Jeep put brand new RS5000s on my Jeep 6 months ago, but I'm thinking about replacing them with the 9000s too. Money well spent, and the "Shocktober" sale they have going now makes it a good time to buy another set. |

Pic thread: My old XJ when I was just out of high school. I bought it for $400, put a new transmission and transfer case in it, rear main seal and fixed some suspension issues. Then it had an electrical fire and it got scrapped after one wheelin trip.
I still miss it. I'm pretty sure my hair is fucked up in this pic because it was soaked with ATF.

This was my first of five Jeeps, a 1956 Willys CJ-5 with the Hurricane Four.
I saw it sitting in a field for years after I sold it in the early 80s. I recently went back to PA and drove past its former resting place, only to see it gone - hopefully to see Jeep life once again.

My 99 XJ. Replaced the Samarai I sold my junior year of high school. Recently put new rear leafs on and new shoes. Have 1" shackles on the way (to level it out) and am pinching pennies for some 3.90's to replace the worn out 3.55's. It's served as my backup DD all the way through college and doesn't bog down on county roads like my Trailblazer does. In the winter it is my chariot to the nearest ski resorts. I grew up in the XJ platform…still my favorite.
This is one of my best man and I after a good rain. Never left the county road… 
Then there is the M38 I'm helping a friend with (I might be getting a CJ-2A out of the deal).

I did switch to (larger 33x10.50) BFG MT/KM2's - but my Jeep is no longer used as a DD, so their on-road handling and wear properties are less important. I prefer the KM2's (in every way) off road - they're great in rocks and mud - and the road handling is pretty nice, too. My snow experience with them is purely off-road, though - I've never had them out on the freeway with some snow. They do well, though, in an off-road snow environment. |

I prefer the KM2's (in every way) off road - they're great in rocks and mud - and the road handling is pretty nice, too. My snow experience with them is purely off-road, though - I've never had them out on the freeway with some snow. They do well, though, in an off-road snow environment. Great in snow, great on the road, ugh in mud. Rocks they're ok, but the smaller lugs will tear up if you spin the wheels much. They pick up smaller rocks and fling them once you get back on the freeway, though, which is (I assume) what he's talking about on the flares. They also wear well - I got ~50k; and never felt like they were too bald to take off-roading. I actually retained them for potential use on my Trailer; I didn't end up using them because I got fairly new tires on the rims that I bought. All in all, I liked them, especially for a vehicle that you're going to use a lot on the road. Yes flying rocks stuck in the tread is what I was referring to. With the doors and top off you really see it. I may try the KM2's next time if I find the daughter a road vehicle. |
