Whats your clearance with that lift? Can you measure from the middle of your sidestep, bottom of it to ground?

Here’s my ‘17 Rubi with a 4.56 regear, GenRight aluminum sliders, bumpers and inner fenders, 2.5” Rancho springs and shocks, 35X12.50R17 KM2s, 8000 Warn, Poison Spyder diff covers, Quadratec aluminum engine, transmission, transfer case, fuel tank and muffler skid plates and a Katzkins leather interior.

Just got it back from the axle shop, really happy with it so far. Hopefully, I can get it on a trail or two this weekend.











ETA, the Poison Spyder diff covers will go on when the diffs get their 500 mile service.

I like it, but I'll never own a 2door again.

One thing I've noticed is the JK 2 door handling (had two 2 door JKs) requires a lot more driver input compared to the longer wheel base JKU.

Even so, I think I'm getting a 2 door if I decide to get a JL and also keep my JKUR.

A 2 door is less weight to pull behind my motor home.

Rims/tires look bigger and the fenders look flatter.


Had a couple of 2drs, tj and jk. Made fun of the 4dr for a long time till I traded for a jku. Now the 2dr looks tarded.

IMO, on road, the 4 door is better in every way.

Off road... a 2 door can still run circles around a 4 door most of the time. They're just more maneuverable. There are rare exceptions where the wheelbase helps the 4 door, but for the most part, it's a hindrance.

I'm very interested in the pickup, though, if it can tow my TJ on a trailer behind it. I would then get rid of my Jeep trailer and use the pickup as the overlander and base camp.

Theres two things I miss about my 2dr: breakover angle and turn radius.

I can fix BA with a lift, which is happening soon, but theres nothing I can do about TR except make 8-10pt turns in a really tight spot. The bennys of the 4dr though (all that room!) just barely weigh the tipping point towards having a 4dr. It's annoying as fuck trying to load a 2dr Jeep up and/or put your family in it when you know there's a better option.

Just got my new shocks installed. New shock towers in the front, outboarded with f250 mounts in the rear. Ads custom adjustable 2.125" shocks with reservoirs.

Are you planning on stretching the wheelbase when you link it?

Yes.  Probably around 118"

Also replacing my rear fenders with comp cut, replacing the np205 transfer case with a Dana tc 4.3:1, among other things.

My latest project.  I still have a PILE of parts to put on.  Mine is strictly for off road.
So far it has: SOA, 8.8, 4.88s, TrueTrac rear, Eaton Elocker front.  This is right after I got it, and threw on the Warn 9000i and the bumpers:

I ordered a new JLU Rubicon a few weeks ago.  It should get a production date soon.  I'll post it up when I get it, which will be sometime in January.  In the mean time, I'm keeping my old 08 JKU Rubicon.  It's in great shape and I just can't bear to let it go.  Too many great memories in it, and too many left to be made!
