If you're referring to the red YJ above, you lack vision.

Slap some 44" tires and 4 link on it and it will make a great trail rig.

You don't see many crawlers running long blocks. I would be interested to see how you like that heavy ass block with an EFI setup on it.

I'm completely up in air on the engine. A fuel injected 5.7 would be a much more sensible choice, but big blocks are just so much fun!

I want the vehicle as low as practical, but with 40's and a lot of flex it will have to be up some.

I plan on keeping it as low as possible. I'd rather cut it up than lift it up. Upside down sucks!

Yes it will - has a V10.

I'm pulling it to Moab in the spring.

I put  2K miles on it in a week and actually drove through Moab on my way to Ogden for Thanksgiving with relatives.

Right now the plan is to flat tow, but I may buy an aluminum car hauler a little later.

Been working on the YJ project a little bit lately.  Put all new bearings and seals in the front and rear ends.  I've got new Warn hubs ordered and will probably put them on later this week. I traded for a set of beadlock wheels with 38.5x13.5/16 Boggers on them a few weeks ago.  We took a break from the axles and mounted the tires and wheels with a couple of lug nuts and set it down so we could see how it looked.  Still lots of work to do but I think it's going to be a lot of fun.

Thanks

35" with a 2 1/2" Rock Krawler lift, also re-geared to 4:88.

RV is getting a brake controller installed tomorrow.

Then I'll get a remote brake system for the JK, and Blue Ox tow bar with adaptors that attach to the front bumper shackle points so I can flat tow the Rubi.

The Jeep thread in GD prompted me to finally snap some pics of my 5 yesterday.  The tub was eat up when I got it but the drive train was solid and someone had put a locker and Moser axles in the rear.

It is my street Jeep with a 304 and three speed.  I gutted the front axle and plan on using it like a cruising hot rod for the most part.  I have a CJ7 with lockers and 33's for playing in the woods but I had always wanted the semi-plainjane Jeep with the headers and side pipes for street use.  The paint is "read my lips" Monstaliner outside and "jeep spice" inside.

How do you like the monstaliner? My tj paint is hammered and I'm doubting it'll be brought back. And with what I have into it I can't justify paint

So far it has held up really well.  No signs of fading.

The preparation is key and it is a two man job to apply.  I did it inside and out by myself over a weekend after a week of preparation and body work.

If I do it again, and I will with my CJ7, I will spray it on with a undercoating spray gun.

Finished this one up in late 2007, and then has been in storage since 2010 due to life happening.

Technically an '83 CJ7, but I like the YJ grille.  Drive train is a 350/350/300, axles are locked 4.56 Dana 44 (that I narrowed from a full size Chevy) front with a hybrid 9" center 14 bolt outer rear, 4 wheel disk brakes.  Front is leaf sprung, rear is 4 link with TJ coils.  Fiberglass tub, and I built the frame from 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 rectangular tube.

I'm very happy with the way it turned out, and you can let go of the wheel at 55 and it goes straight as an arrow.  I want to get it out again this summer now that my son is getting big enough to be able to ride in it, and possibly start looking into putting a 700r4 in it for more mall crawler duty.

It was 50 and sunny the other day. Now we are back to snow covered and -3f.

Had to break her out of the barn for a spin around the back 40 though.
