WOW!!!.....and I thought your rifles were nice. That was my first thought then it occurred to me with the mechanics of it I am not surprised he is into tweaking both to perfection. My younger brother (in college) has been a car guy since he was a kid and though he is a beginner to gunsmithing he has expressed a high interest in it. I love what you have done with the billet pieces, coating etc to give it some originality. If he can work on a car, he will do well with AR's. Yeah I love the plating, and it's functional as well. |

The engine have b-heads, or do you have a custom lower intake and usong the b-head upper intake? You don't see a lot of people using the older b-heads on the modular four valve motors. Yes tricked out B heads with a tricked out Hamilion Clark (HCI) intake manifold. That's cool, not many people use teem since they flow so much air in, but not as much out. I think the Aeromotive car runs B-heads too. I've been out of the mustang scene for awhile, but i'm always itching to get another. And those Saleens with beadlocks are awesome, definitely haven't seen someone take a wheel like that and add beadlocks to them. Do you know the guys from Lamottas in Longwood? I think they are going to be out there with a twin turbo coyote SVO they built. And off topic, but will Spikes ever do another run of those Florida lowers? I missed a chance at the originals. I'm really happy with the B heads, they flow a shit ton and they LOVE RPM. They are cheap too, $50 a set for the cores. Down side was the high dollar hard to find HCI intake manifold, but the manifold will out live the heads pretty easy. The C heads are expensive but the intakes are cheap. I'd rather have the cheaper heads.. The Florida lowers were a Limited run, I doubt we will ever make more. There was 505 produced. |

Lucas oil was kind enough to send me one of K&N's new Billet oil filters along with 5 more gallons of the custom blended 5w50 Lucas oil I run in my engine. The Billet K&N filter is pretty damn sweet, it's a lifetime cleanable oil filter, it will handle my high oil pressure, and it can be taken apart for inspection or cleaning in a couple minutes. It also has better flow and excellent filtration according to K&N and some of the guys already using them. It has a really nice stainless steel filter element which also has floating earth magnets trapped inside the outer mesh. Mil-Spec Viton o-rings throughout the whole assembly. Definitely the nicest oil filter I've ever seen. They claim the mounting flange is Forged, everything else Billet. I've already got my filter all tore apart so I can NP3 coat most of the components. It will look new pretty much forever with the Nickel Teflon finish, plus it's extremely slick (better oil flow - easier to disassemble - easier to clean). I thought about just black or battle ship grey anodizing but I'd rather have the NP3. Kinda sucks that it will never be seen! The NP3 finish on my brakes is still holding up awesome, look new still, and the nasty brake dust just washes right off with car wash soap and water. I'll probably go through and lightly port all of the oil passage ways or at least smooth everything out nice before coating, then bead blast everything, thoroughly clean everything, and then NP3 coat.

About 3 weeks ago I tore up both turbos. They were being starved for oil because my oil restrictors were to small. That was an expensive mistake. I pulled them off and sent them to Precision. They rebuilt them with brand new coated dual ball bearing cartridges and I'll finally have them back tomorrow. I get to drive my car again! Can't wait to see if there is a performance difference by going to ball bearing.
This was the worst one. The turbine wheel never touched down on the second turbo, the journal bearings were just toast.

Just got back from a little cruise. I drove it around for about an hour, it feels great. I'm really liking the ball bearing turbos, better throttle response and it's building boost quite a bit faster than it did. I'm starting to see boost at 3000 RPM verse 3600-3800 RPM. I'm curious to see how it runs at the track.

That was with all 5 of us and the trunk was stuffed full. I'd say around 4500lbs sense it weighs 3940lbs with me in it, 3715lbs empty. Car is so bad ass, we watched movies the whole way. I'm super happy considering a stock 03 Cobra only gets 22 MPG!

I'm currently working with AFCO Racing doing some testing on their new 99-04 Mustang double adjustable front struts. These struts are not currently on the market yet so I'm very thankful for the opportunity presented to me by AFCO. The Fedex man just dropped them off earlier today so I'll most likely be installing these bad boys over weekend. :-)
These AFCO struts are super high quality in every way. These are definitely the nicest struts I've ever seen for a Mustang! I think AFCO is going to own the Mustang market with these struts. The body is threaded (all one piece) not a separate piece of crap slip over coilover conversion kit. The body's appear to be steel/chromoly with a real nice Matte Nickel plating, which just so happens to match everything else on the car perfectly! The Tig welds are absolutely beautiful and AFCO even plug welded them in a couple locations. All of the aluminum parts are very well machined and have a nice bright blue anodized finish for added durability. The coilover spanner nut spins super smooth on the Nickel plated strut body and they have a clamp with a cross tension bolt (also Nickel plated) verse jamming a set screw into the threads on the body or having an additional locking nut. The compression and rebound adjustments are very positive and the billet knobs are in the perfect locations. Sometimes Mustang struts require shims where they bolt up to the spindle, I noticed AFCO actually bolted these shims in place which will make install much easier. The fit and finish on these struts is absolutely incredible. Even the springs are super nice and chrome plated to boot. AFCO is a great company, great people, and all of their products are made right here in the USA. I would highly recommend checking them out. With all that said, most guys don't buy AFCO products for their great looks, they buy them for the functionality. All AFCO products are thoroughly tested (right here is a perfect example) and their stuff just works amazing. These struts are supposed to have some new technology built into them that helps with weight transfer big time. I'm really excited to try them out. They are designed to transfer as much weigh as possible without causing wheels stands. They are also designed to soak up harsh landings coming down from a big wheel stand so the car doesn't get destroyed or smashed up. I don't know exactly what they've done but I can feel it when I move the shaft in and out. They have a little bit of free travel before locking up. It feels weird but I can definitely see how it would work. Stay tuned for track testing. Here's the pictures. :-)

I've done most of the custom fabrication on this car myself. Some of the parts I had machined to my specs though. Weldcraft did the wheels (widen and narrow) and Champion did the beadlocks, I just had them made to my specs. |

Got the oil filter finished up. Went NP3 on everything except the body. The body is black Hardcoat anodize. Nicest oil filter on the planet!
The threaded insert was red loctited in place and staked.

Well I have the new aluminum mufflers almost finished up. We got everything mocked up and cut to size, then I had the front and rear end caps WaterJet cut from aluminum plate. Then I had the cores welded up. I still need to port the cores, which is going to take forever drilling all those little 1/8" holes by hand! Then I'll go through and clean everything up real nice and deburr everything. Then I'm going to Black Velvet Cerakote the interior of both mufflers. Then I'll pack them full of high temp Ceramic wool. Then we can finish welding the bodies in place. After that we can Cerakote the exterior. They should be pretty sweet when they are done!! These aluminum mufflers are pretty beefy but still ended up being way lighter than a stainless steel muffler.

At least with steel you can burn through some paint or rust. God forbid if there's a stray piece of dust anywhere near the aluminum you're trying to weld.

Well we got 5th place at KOTS. I'm extremely disappointed and super pissed off. Apparently 5.0 Mustang magazine is either blind or fucking clueless. The Lethal Performance (bolt-on) white GT500 car won. Lethal just so happens to be 5.0 magazines largest advertiser. Lethal also advertises in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords which is all owned by the same company, Intermedia. Such bull shit.

Well here's the start to another new custom project. It's going to be a custom air powered boost controller. I use to have one in my old car and it works amazing. You can set starting line boost, total boost, and you can control the rate (how fast it goes from starting line boost to total boost). It's within 1psi accurate.
I had Speed of Sound make this custom console insert piece, most people just use them for gauges and switches but I'll be integrating the boost controller to their piece up from the bottom side. It will all be hidden inside the armrest and can be changed on the fly. :-)
