Those Trackers are neat. If you leave them stock and just take care of them, they will go a long time and get through most any weather. An underrated vehicle for sure.
My DD is a '09 Kia Spectra SX 5 speed manual with a 2.0L engine. I get about 34mpg all highway and near 30 in town if I am easy on it. Stil making payments on it so doesn't fall under cheap and I may end up selling it and buying a beater if at all possible. I love the car but I hate payments. Unfortunately my daily commute is about to go through the roof so I would need to get a beater that gets around 30 mpg. We'll see. Love picture threads so I'll throw mine in there even though it doesn't qualify. ![]() |

Here's mine. It's a 2001 Hyundai Accent with 103K on it. I get ~35 mpg around town and have gotten 42 mpg on the highway. As a matter of fact, I drove from Atlanta to Bracey, VA a while back with my 16' Mad River Explorer TT (85 lbs) on the roof and got 39 mpg. It may be ugly and cheap, but it's paid for, and 35 mpg around town definitely beats the hell out of the 15 mpg I get with the Suburban that's parked in front of it.

'83 Toyota Tercel SR5 Wagon. 1.5l, 6 speed (5 gears, with a "Granny Gear" when 4WD is engaged.) I get approximately 30mpg by skipping 4th gear in my shifting pattern, otherwise it's approximately 26mpg. Rebuilt the engine after purchase, slightly over-bored cylinders, but otherwise stock. I don't have something nicer. Also: Mobile range bench.

Toyota Taco...4x4...2.7L with about 159HP. Even with larger 265/75's it's getting 25MPG on the highway. Not a hooptie but it gets beat a little off road.

Since you said no motorcycles, I won't post pics.
My daily Driver is a 1992 Kawasaki KZ1000P and I get between 35-40 city and 45-47 highway. My gas guzzler is a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire that gets 20 city and 26 highway. |

I don't have a picture handy, but a 2002 Saturn SL1 - 5 speed, 1.9L.
Recently had some headaches getting the emissions done - the exhaust manifold ports where the air pump injects were clogged (ran fine, but wouldn't pass the ODBII test). Averaging 36-39mpg depending on if I have the AC on. Massive jump from my Cherokee that was averaging 12-15mpg. |

My real toy is this (1998 AM General HUMMER w/ 6.5L turbo diesel gets about 16 mpg): So my most economical commuter is sometimes this (2005 Taurus w/ 3.0L gas, gets about 27 mpg): |

I've never bought a vehicle based on fuel mileage. When I need gas..I put it in. The wife drives an 08 Jeep Compass and you would thing for a 4 cyl 5 speed it would be good on gas. Not when it's reving 3500 in 5th gear! ![]() |

I get about 25mpg with my all wheel drive Toyota RAV4. 103K miles and I bought it for $1200. Not the greatest mileage, but the purchase price was right, the insurance is cheap, and it gets lots better mileage than my diesel F250.
