My 2006 Subaru impreza non turbo 2.5 keeps throwing a low idle code. I think it may be the idle control valve but I don't know where it lives on my engine.

Was thinking it was a doohickey with a black plastic top that mounts to the intake plenum but I'm not sure?

Thats usually it. You can clean them with carb cleaner and re-instal. Thats what I do as they are horribly expensive on my car. Dont try to push the plunger back in if you pull and clean it.

I bet a google search will get you a bit better info for your model year.
