THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I'll be sure to post pics when I get it home! So I'm making the move from my 2011 Jeep JK (lifted, tires, etc, etc) to a more economical solution (easier for my wife to get in and out of really). Have a pregnant wife and am looking into 4 door sedans now. I've been out of the "car" game for a while and have just started researching again. What are some of the fastest/most reliable sedan options out there? I've been looking hard at a used 09 CTS-V that I can get a good deal on if I get the right price for my Jeep. My wife has an SRX that has been great and I'm a little partial to the Cadillacs due to the good experience with our local Caddy dealer and her car. Any other suggestions though? Also been looking at the Evo's and STi's. Budget is around $45k or so. |

Pontiac G8
Chrysler300 / Dodge Charger No experience with the G8, but I'd kill for one. I have an 06 300C with the Hemi and AWD that has been flawless for 50K miles. |

I bought my wife an Infiniti G37 and I would do it again in a heartbeat. It's very nice and fast as hell.

45k could get you a nice used BMW 335i or new one without a ton of options.

Wow, that thing is a beauty, but if I'm gonna get the wife to let me drop the money on it, its gonna have to be a 4 door. Just did an autotrader search on the m3 sedans and only got two! |

I just reread your OP... Didn't realize your wife was pregant.
I hauled my wife all around in my lowered E90 330i when she was pregant. Not the best choice.... |

Your already looking at a pretty nice car, the CTS/STS-V's are badass let alone the fastest production sedan. But I also like the G8, Grand Prix GXP's but I do not think they make those anymore, Impala SS?

No, its a great vehicle and I love it. Me and my wife actually work out of the same office, so we carpool to work most of the time and just don't get to drive the jeep that often since its a 60 mile round trip commute and its much more comfortable to take her SRX over the jeep (thats got 35's on it) on the tollroads. Not to mention trying to maintain 70mph with the jeep on the highway is "less than a comfortable" ride in the mornings to work. Throw any sort of wind in the mix and your driving a brick on wheels with a minivan engine trying to do the work The jeep just isnt a good fit for our driving conditions right now, but still a great vehicle. |

Haha, well now I have to literally give her a boost into the JK, she's already complaining about it at 3 months, I don't want to unleash the pregnant wrath at 8 months ETA: And now I cant stop looking at M3's....thanks a lot for making the decision that much harder haha Originally Posted By OBER:

The little one will have more than enough money, bonds, stocks and funds to make sure it goes to a nice college, get what it needs, etc. I've made sure that is priority one over buying a stupid car. Now that that is taken care of, I need to figure out which 4 door is going to get it, my wife and myself around in something other than a camry (not that there is anything wrong with that) and that has a little more "get up and go" to it. $45k is the limit I set for myself as I don't WANT to spend anymore than that, I just wanted to find what cars are in that range. Money's not the issue here, but I'm trying not to come across as a pretentious prick about it |

If you can wait: http://www.caranddriver.com/news/2013-bmw-3-series-sports-wagon-news For the record, the V6 camry is pretty fast and will do things you didn't think possible for an economy family sedan. |

M3 or M5. Practically the definition of a "fast sedan".
Though a 335 would be a hell of a lot of fun too. |

Look for a low mileage 07 STi. Then use remaining funds for engine build, turbo upgrade, suspension, etc.

I recently bought a 2009 335 x drive sedan and love it.
Popped in a jb4 to up the power and still get 29 MPG on the highway. The N54 is a hell of an engine! PS- the HPFP thing is a bit over blown and as I understand it BMW has solved the issue on the new pumps. |

Not RWD but if I had my way right now for my daily driver I'd go with a Gen 3 Acura TL type S.
You'd save a good chuck of money over a BMW and have money left over to treat yourself with. If I had 45K to spend I'd buy the gen3 type S for DD and with the money left over I'd beef up a C5 vette for the weekends. |

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Narrowed it down to a used CTS-V (assuming I can make a deal on a local one) and if that falls through, wait for the 2013 chargers to come out and pick up a 2012 model srt8. |
