I might be able to get the big game tomorrow. The sheep are low right now, but I have to make a new archery target first for my sons. It's about a tow hour ride up to the edge of the park, but it's a great ride and tomorrow should be nice.

I've wanted to do this ride for weeks, and this gives me a reason. I'd love to get some good pictures of sheep. I'll even take the good camera. |

Success! Pictures in a bit. Except good camera didn't make the trip.
Total of 160 miles today.
Ill post a few more when I get home. Just got home......what a ride! I'm so glad I got to go today. Fantastic weather. Saw about 6 different groups of sheep, but no elk, and no bears.
There's a moose in the center, just left of the leaning tree
This one just for fun, looking up into Yellowstone, about 1/2 mile from the East Gate, which is still closed.
Next topic is a falling down or leaning, barn/house/ruins |

Riiight... Because nobody else thinks that it is unreasonable to purposely seek out completely unpredictable large animals that will absolutely fuck you up if they end up in your way. Everybody knows that areas with significant deer concentrations never have problems with the deer running out of side brush in front of oncoming traffic with no warning. Not a problem at all. ![]() |

Not a problem at all. ![]() Almost every great motorcycle road in this nation, by most rider's definitions, goes through areas with high concentrations of big critters. It's a risk you take riding in the great outdoors, unless you wanna go up and down the straight streets of suburbia. Animal strikes are way down on the list of injury and fatality list, by the statistics btw. Left-turners and your own inability to handle the bike wreck more of us than deer or elk. LOL.....Love Canal..... Toxic waste FTMFW!
Today, I was actually fairly causious about the sheep. They've been known to ram vehicles that got too close. One ewe got curious and walked over to me fairly close. If she'd of come at me while I was sitting on the bike, it wouldn't of been pretty. .
I would usually worry about the buffalo, but that sumbich wouldn't even lift his head up for me. He acted like I wasn't even there. I still wasn't getting any closer on my bike. I'm not that stupid. I just went slow today, and of course kept my head on a swivel. There was NO traffic today, it was fantastic. I think I saw a total of about 10 cars once I left Cody, on my way up the North Fork to the E. Gate. When I did see sheep on the road I just slowed down to a crawl. I also did this during the day, and not at a time when visibility was hurt. I think the key was I was expecting to see animals, unlike most motorcycle vs. deer, when they weren't looking for them, or weren't expecting them. Rider hit an elk last year up near my cabin. It was at night, and at 9800ft. ![]() |

Must be an Ohio thing....us Pennsylvania mountain guys must be grown a little tougher... ![]() |
