Please educate my dense head on capital gain and taxes involved...
 I have a property (land) for about 10 years and I plan to sell it.  There will be a net gain from this property.
 As I understand, if I don't invest and keep this capital gain $$$, I'll pay tax for it (I have no idea how much....some said 10%, others said 20%-45%).  However, this capital gain, I plan to buy land to build small office building and/or renting it out within a year.  
 The question:  Do I still pay capital gain tax even I'll invest in something else within a year?

I thought it had to be put back into property in 45 days not a year....?

 Wolfpack...I think it's longer than 45 days.

Wolfpack:  You're correct about 45 days.  Seller has 45 days to ID the potential properties seller wants to buy from the closing date of seller's sold property; 180 days to close on the Like-Kind property from the closing date of the seller's sold property.
