Most major companies you can sell them through a link on the investor relations part of the website. I have bought/sold AT&T and PG that way.

I'm sorry for leaving you hanging 4v50, I do have friends I can contact about this unless google/bing helps you. A older friend used to be FLs public housing(IIRC) bond salesman/ comp-troler <shrug> in the 50s. I'll ring him with your question if you like. I know my friend would like to know if its still a "whole company". I recall him mentioning a client with ATT stock certificates from the 60's, that were spun into many small lots of shares of this, that, and the other equity holding. Good luck!
