First off I didn't think this belonged in the HAM section but if the mods feel otherwise please delete/move.

I have zero military experience but I was wondering what kind of radios a group of guys would use for short range stuff. Admittedly I was watching "13 hours" and they had what seemed to be a fluid communications set up within the team.
Just curious if this is standard 2 way motorola simple set up or something closer to a small HAM.

Thank you for your time and service.

The majority of the radios you saw in that movie was AN/PRC-152's.

There is no telling what the tip of the spear is trialling these days. Probably some kinda mesh system with satellite backhaul.
