I was the LPO for the EW's on my ship. We had a new guy from Oklahoma check in just before we set sail out of Hawaii. As always, we hit the Philippines on the way out. We were educating him  the entire way from Hawaii to the PI about haggling, condoms, mama sans, etc etc. he went out by himself as soon as we got there and came back about an hour later as excited as hell. He pulled out this little plastic cart that had a plastic vase on it. The item was about 4 inches long and 4 inches tall... It was tiny. We asked him how much he gave for it he said he haggled the lady down from 150 to 100... Then he said, DOLLARS. Holy fuck! He thought the lady was talking dollars and not peso's he paid $100 dollars for something that was about $2. That lady probably retired that day and spent the next 5 years living off the dumbass from Oklahoma.
