I want to buy one of the Ruger scout rifles you previewed. what kind of optic are you using now? I think I would put some sort of red dot sight on mine.

The more I shoot it, the more I like it. For general carry, I've topped mine with a Burris Scout Scope.

I recently dusted off my .22 Scout trainer, for a weekend shoot with some little fellers. It's a Model 77/22, with XS scope rail, XS Ghost Ring backups and Leupold Scout scope.

Given today's ammunition prices, it probably pays for itself every 500 rounds!

The steel mags are of the type used in the Accuracy International rifles. Seem to be pretty much bomb-proof.

got one. put a FX 2.5x28mm leupold scout scope on top. like the gun. M-14 mags would have been a better choice IMHO.

I heard they tried to go with M14 mags off the bat, but that they somehow proved unreliable in feeding. I agree, it would have been the way to go.

How many mags come with the gun, and how hard are the Accuracy INT. mags to get? I really want one of these rifles.

I also read somewhere that Ruger is working on a less expensive polymer mag for the GSR.
THANKS AKIA_AZ!!!

1 ten round mag comes with gun. the mags can be purchased but I have yet to search for them very much. I did see one MSRP of $80 for a ten round mag.

$799 plus tax for gun and $279 plus tax for the leupold scope. so, after the bastards get their tax money it was almost $1200. throw in a set of butler creek flip caps and a sling and it will be all of $1200.
