Baseball Season is about to start.

Every since I’ve started these threads a dull year led to a year with many firings or resignations.  For Four years in a row now only a few Mangers were fired.  Most managers have been rehired with few actually being told pack their bags.  How bloody will this year be?  Tame like the past few years or back to being a bloodbath?

Place your bets: Who will face the music and be fired?

A.J. Hinch

After my Stros deal Altuve for prospects they'll reach 100 losses with 12 games to go and Hinch will be out.

I liked Porter. Shoulda stuck with him.

Terry Collins of the Mets.  I think they are going to have a rough year and the Mets always have a very short leash on their managers.

That was fast. Brewers can Ron Roenicke.

I'm going to have a hard time finding if there was an earlier firing.

Ron Roenicke fired as Brewers' manager

The Milwaukee Brewers have already seen enough. Twenty-five games into the season, the team has fired manager Ron Roenicke.

Team general manager Doug Melvin made the announcement, saying the team wasn't performing up to standard.

After several years of relatively few managers being fired we finally might be getting back into bloody seasons

Marlins Dismiss Manager Redmond

MIAMI -- A disappointing 16-22 start to the 2015 season prompted the Marlins to dismiss manager Mike Redmond and bench coach Rob Leary on Sunday after the team was swept by the Braves.

The decision came shortly after the Marlins were nearly no-hit by Shelby Miller in a 6-0 loss at Marlins Park. The club will introduce general manager Dan Jennings as Redmond's replacement, according to a source, at an 11 a.m. ET news conference on Monday.

"Really, we're just looking for a new voice," president of baseball operations Michael Hill said. "There will be a press conference at 11 a.m., where we'll introduce the new manager and keep moving forward."

Padres fire manager Bud Black

The San Diego Padres have fired manager Bud Black, the club announced Monday. The official statement:

The club will immediately begin the formal search for an Interim Manager for the remainder of the 2015 season. Until that process has concluded, Bench Coach Dave Roberts will serve as the Manager beginning with tonight's game against Oakland.
The Padres entered the season with heightened expectations after a wild offseason of trades landed them the likes of Justin Upton, Matt Kemp, Wil Myers, Craig Kimbrel and more -- in addition to the free agent signing of James Shields.

They were looking great through 15 games, too, sitting 10-5. Since then, the club has sputtered and currently sits 32-33, losers of four of their last six.

Ryno resigned from managing the Phillies.
Semi-pity that resigning does NOT count as being fired.

Bets on his replacement, though.

Seattle Mariners Fires General Manager

Too bad it doesn't count.
On the Field Manger does.

Let's see what happens 5 weeks from now.

So happy he was in long enough to trade Welington Castillo to the Dbacks for Trumbo. He did the Dbacks a big favor with that one.

Likely candidates to replace fired Nationals Manager Matt Williams

When Matt Williams was hired as the sixth manager in Washington Nationals history two Octobers ago, there was no way to know anything substantive about his style and strategy. How would he act in the clubhouse? How would he run a game? We could ask questions, and he could answer, but until he rolled out his first lineup (remember that one, with Wilson Ramos hitting cleanup and Bryce Harper hitting sixth?) and began pushing buttons and pulling levers, certainty was impossible.

It looks like it's back to Open Season on Major League Baseball Mangers again.

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Admitting his San Diego Padres ''didn't have the right formula'' this season, general manager A.J. Preller says he's looking for a manager who can get the underachieving team to play at a high level.

Preller fired interim manager Pat Murphy on Sunday after the Padres finished 74-88 and fourth in the NL West, 18 games behind the division champion Los Angeles Dodgers.

Reading the Article it seems to say, Get Out of Town Before Sundown more than being fired.  If you want to put a 6th Place Trophy go right ahead.

I'm just putting it out there. I just heard he was out of a job. Seemed to me it was a get out or you're gone.

That was fast: AP sources: Don Mattingly hired as Marlins manager

???AP sources: Don Mattingly hired as Marlins manager .

MIAMI (AP) -- When the revolving door that is the Miami Marlins' manager job stopped turning Thursday, Don Mattingly was in and Dan Jennings was out of the organization.

Miami hired Mattingly less than a week after he parted with the Los Angeles Dodgers, two people familiar with the situation said. The people confirmed the hiring to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the decision hadn't been announced.

Anybody taking bets on whether to not it's true?????

I had heard this being a rumor even before he left L.A.

Ha, ha.....Rusty Dusty.

I saw that a coupe of days ago.  He's been around quite a while, now, and has a pretty good record.  I think he will do OK there.
