I was targeting Ertz but he went before I was ready. Was suppose to be a value TE!

He should do very well for you. What did you pay for him?

My crappy team is having a decent week, go figure.

I hate playing Goblin in this league - I've got Cobb on my dynasty league team and he's had him in this league forever - and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I am lucky enough to have Antonio Brown in both leagues, thank goodness (also Ertz & Golden Tate, FWIW).

I should have Empire beat tonight as long as Rivers and Fitz don't drop the ball (see what I did there).

lol... I'm ahead by about 45 and Temporary Holder only has one player tonight.    I honestly still don't feel safe considering it is Megatron.

Did you see my final score putz? I have 4 WR's that all scored at least 19 points. Stafford's my QB and McCoy, Ellington and Ingram are holding down the RB corps.

Might as well just give me the bounty now and play the rest out for second place

Sproles crushed McCoy's output, Stafford will start tossing INT soon enough and... Ingram?  Now I know you're joking!

Listen up Spanky, I will concede that Sproles crushed McCoy, yet I still scored 164 points. Wait till McCoy produces and my defense shows up and these weekly numbers will be 200+

Ingram? really...now you're just being jealous. He was the steal of the draft

Likewise..  I think I have the players to make a good run this year.  I just need a little of the luck now too.  I also need to stop making bad decisions.

The first year I was in this league I missed my chance at the final because I benched Michael Vick.   Would have won the semi-final if I didn't.    I tend to get in my own way a lot..

Sucks about Adrian Peterson... That is the kind of luck I am talking about.   Not playing because he disciplined his kid like a million other parents do...   Probably left a mark though which is a felony in a lot of states.

Yep.  From what I've read he disciplined him the same way he was disciplined as a child, and he's been completely cooperative.

I had a switch across my backside more than once.

The criminalization of discipline is horseshit, and there's a long list of similar nonsense going on in America today.

It's just about against the rules to be a boy in school nowadays, physical contact of any sort is enough to get you suspended and heaven forbid you throw something at someone - even a ball that you intend the other person to catch.

Check this out:

http://www.npr.org/blogs/parallels/2014/08/12/339825261/global-parenting-habits-that-havent-caught-on-in-the-u-s?utm_campaign=storyshare&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social

Young kids ride the subway alone in Japan.  Vietnamese kids are potty trained in less than a year by using a whistle.  In Denmark parents leave kids in unattended strollers out on the sidewalk while they shop.

In America, you can stay on your parents' health insurance until you are 26.  TWENTY SIX YEARS OLD!  If my kid can't manage to insure themselves by 26 they won't need to worry about me insuring them, they'll have to worry about me disowning them.

Yeah, my dad used the belt on me and made sure I got a bit of the buckle each time.

Here if a mark is left behind like any sort of bruise or anything that doesn't dissipate quickly it is a crime.   If it is more than a red mark that fades relatively quickly it is technically a felony.

My parents would probably have had about 87 felony counts each...

Anyway... It is unfortunate for Peterson's family and also unfortunate for whoever owns him in the leagues here.

No shit, right?

I'm not a fan of the entire notion of "adolescence".  The entire thing is a 20th century fabrication.  For the entirety of human history, boys became men and girls became women and there was very little or no middle ground.  Your 17 year old son was a grown ass man and supporting himself as likely as not - and he was probably married or betrothed to a girl a few years younger than him.  That 14 year old girl was a woman by all social measures, and she probably had her first kid by the time she was 16.  She managed a household and she did it by herself.

My own 15 year old daughter is treated like the grown woman she is.  She knows what is expected of her and she knows better than to fail to meet those expectations.  She travels by plane unescorted and has since she was 13.  She's planning to be a foreign exchange student for her junior year and I expect her to behave like an independent and mature human being at all times.  The amount of personal liberty she enjoys would send some of her friends' parents into the fetal position.

The hand holding that goes on with some of her classmates is appalling.  Helicopter parenting run amok.  17 year old boys that have never spent a night away from home.  16 year old girls that are not allowed to ride their bicycles without a parent in tow.  It's shameful, we are actively ruining our society with this bullshit and I, for one, am not going to participate in it.

I used to be the IT Manager for a small chain of furniture stores.  I was able to do my job and keep ARFcom and ESPN open in tabs on my browser all day long.  How else does one get a post count like mine if they aren't posting all day from work?

Now I'm the Operations Manager for a small sea salt producer.  In short, I'm the head whip cracker at the salt mine.  I love it, but I spend very little time at my computer.

My fantasy football fortunes may have been adversely affected by this change.

Yeah, my wife joined another league with me this season because she wanted to try it. She has never been in a league before.   I just gave her basic advice like be sure to draft two kickers, pick up your defense first, and that RB's are easy to find later in the season so don't worry about drafting them early.

She got Julio in the second round....  Her team is a lot better than mine..

ETA:  I just noticed I went up against Julio Jones this week....    #$%!
