What I don't understand is how the AL can dominate the NL every year in inter league play, but the NL wins more All Star games. Oh well, who cares? Not me really. |

Ok, with the stupid ASG behind us and the season starting up again tomorrow. Lets do some predictions for the second half, shall we?
Orioles, Can they maintain their surprising momentum in the AL East? Rays, Are they on ice til next year? Nats, Can they really hold on and, take the NL East? Bucs, Can the Bucs Keep going this way and take the Central? Dodgers, Are they for real? Are they going to fizzle in the 1st round? Yanks, Can they stay healthy? Can they repeat the 1st half's 52 wins? Angels, Are they going to figure it out and catch the Rangers? Rangers, Can they stay healthy and hold off the Angels? Giants, Are they headed for a 2nd half melt down? Dbacks, What the heck are they gonna do? Whose selling? Where are they going? And, is it a difference maker? NLCS- Nats vs Bucs? (Dodgers vs Cincy?) ALCS- Yanks vs Rangers, again? (Rangers vs ??) WS- Yanks vs Nats? (Rangers vs Cincy?) Lets hear it???? PLAY BALL! |

Tigers are going to win the AL Central, Washington is going to win the NLCS and the Rangers will not be in the World Series.
Those are my predictions. |

The Mets are good this year, but there are a lot of good NL teams this year and I don't think that the Mets can top some of them. They should be able to beat the braves for second place though. Personally, I'd like to see the Nats and the Reds in the NLCS. Speaking of The Nats, did you know that the Tigers could have gotten Gio Gonzales this season if they would have traded Jacob Turner, Drew Smyly and Nick Castellanos? Sad but true. |

NY Mets are done. They just lost 8 of 9 to the Nats and the Braves. Lost 9 of their last 10.
Bucs are starting their 2nd half slide down. Looks like the Dodgers and the Giants are going down to the wire. NY Yankees will win the East, and probably not by 10 games. Tigers, White Sox and the Indians can't figure out who is better of the three? Rangers are going to win the west, probably not by 10 games either. And everybody needs to be aware of the A's, if they continue to play like they have the 2nd half! |

And everybody needs to be aware of the A's, if they continue to play like they have the 2nd half! The Indians won't last. Detroit won tonight and JV is pitching tomorrow, so the Tigers will in all likelihood take the series, pushing Cleveland under .500. The AL Central will be a race between Chicago and Detroit. I think Detroit will win it. Picking up Infante and Sanchez should shore up their weak spots. The Rangers will win the AL West, but I don't think they'll make it to the World Series. I'm picking Detroit and New York for the ALCS, and I think it could go either way. Detroit has gotten it's starting pitching fixed and I expect the offense to continue doing well. They will be a different team than the one that faced NY earlier this year. AL wild cards, I am picking LA and Baltimore. I don't think the A's surge is going to hold up, but I could be wrong. NL is ALL Washington...deending on what happens with Strasburg. If Washington maskes a surprise move on one of the big name pitchers out there then you know that Strasburg is done. He's only got 5 starts left if they are serious about sitting him after 160 innings. They'll need another big arm if they want to sit him so if they make a move then Strasburg is done for the season. Cincinnati will take the Central and I still think LA will win the west. I expect that Pittsburgh and San Francisco will pick up the wild card slots. |

The Angels have imploded yet again! The Rangers have the AL all but sewn up at this point with the bats picking up again. If they can maintain distance, the Yanks and Rangers can rest guys which could be a big factor in the playoffs since the wildcards and the AL Central will probably be down to the wire. |

O's still doing well!
Anything above .500 would be a successful season for me. But hopefully they can stay in the playoff race all season, I'd LOVE to go watch meaningful September baseball at Camden Yards. |

Let's hope we can pull away. Throughout the season we've been continually pushing back our goalposts: Winning season Be contenders Make the Playoffs Win the Division Win the Pennant Win the World Series The first four look very good right now. If we make the playoffs it will be a very interesting October. There's probably some orange/October/Hallowe'en joke in there somewhere. |

After Buck took over me and a friend made a bet that within 5 years the O's would make the playoffs. This is the end of year 2, and it's looking like I might win some money. When I was at Opening Day me and my friends were talking about our goals for this season, the consensus was at or above .500, that is guaranteed after today's win. 4 games up on TB right now following that sweep, leading the AL East by a half game until tonight when the Yanks face the Red Sox. Hopefully the O's are in sole possession of 1st place after tonight. ![]() |
