School me on remote desktop services.

What I want to do:

Access work computer (always powered on, always on the net) from my computer at home, be able to use the programs on the work computer. Boss says it's ok, we are a small company (3 employees).

The only way to do it properly is via VPN or via remote desktop gateway.

When doing it via VPN you can run into MTU issues, especially on DSL with PPPoE so test it extensively first.

A gateway is much less trouble, but the infrastructure required is likely too much for your budget.
