Trying to setup an N64 controller in RetroPie. I can assign the buttons and they work in the menu but are not functioning in the games. What am I doing wrong?

This is the third controller. I also have two SNES controllers and they are working fine.

Well working in the menus means its configured for EmulationStation, which is a completely different program from the libretro N64 emulator that you launch when you start a game. Are you sure its configured for the RetroArch N64 emu core that you're using?

I'm guessing the answer is no because I don't know what those are.  I"m new to the Pi scene.  I programmed the SNES controllers the same way via the EmulationStation menu and they work in all of the games.  How do I change configuration in RetroArch?

I read several how-to's and they say that when I configure in EmulaitonStation it automatically configures it in RetroArch.
