Anyone know of a good free (hopefully) media player that works with Windows 10 that will play these files reliably?  I have tried Windows Media Player and it locks up both my laptops just trying to play a simple MP3 file.  One will not play the file, just sits and spins; the other will play the first song, if you click on another it completely locks up the laptop and you have to use task manager to shut the application down.

I don't remember the name of the player that came on my new laptop, but it took 20-30 seconds just to load a new song after you clicked on it.  Unusable for me.

Thanks...

VLC is nice for all around playback of songs/videos as mentioned. If you want a little more management for just music files, I like foobar2000.

Hands down, foobar2000 is the best for music.  Actively developed, lots of nice add-ons (components).  VLC is my pick for video.
