Every automatic driver updater I've found had to be paid for.

What device do you need drivers for?  Which operating system?

Sometimes if you look at the "optional updates" in Windows Update there are some driver updates.  I wouldn't trust any of the scanners.  Most of the time there's no reason to update drivers except graphics cards but you can use the bundled software to do that
