There is a reason that they are trying to sell you that gear. I have never seen a high density network be truly successful if it wasn't Cisco. One of our high school has a high tech density. Think 2 WiFi Devices per student and 3 per staff. Plus all of the cell phones being put on the network. That school upgraded to a 2Gig internet connection this year. They ended up going with 2 AP per classroom and 1 in the halls every 30-50 feet.
I was working with a large property 100+ acres with they were continually struggling with Ruckus and then Aruba. It was a total mess. They ignored many recommendations to go Cisco. Guess what they finally saw the light and it was a massive improvement. Roaming all of the sudden worked. High density areas had great coverage and little issues. They also introduced a WiFi IP phone and it worked great every time before that that particular project was scrapped.
Meraki is great if you want a easy install with minimal config. Great for school and hospitals due to the content filtering ability. I am currently running them at all of my remote locations for ease of management. I have used Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Extreme Networks, HP, Juniper, Motorola, Ubiquity, and most of the consumer wireless for installs. A controller or cloud controller is a must.
