Hi, I'm looking for an external battery pack phone charger. I'm in college so its hard to keep my phone charged while I'm using it. I currently have a droid RAZR HD. But will upgrade to an S5 or IPhone 5 this winter. The question Im asking is what is a good portable charger to buy?

I bought a cheap one that didn't even begin to charge my phone. It just barely slowed down the battery draining process. So i need something to charge a phone quickly and be able to charge it 3-5 times before going dead. Any advice? Thanks!

It depends on how much capacity you need, but for reasonable amounts, I have one of these, and it does fine.

If you need more capacity, the same company has models up to 12ah.

If you're using it hard while it's plugged in then it will charge slowly if at all no matter what kind of charger you use, even the wall charger.  There are tons of options on Amazon so just look for one with good reviews.  I would recommend at least 10,000 mAh if you want to get 3 or 4 chargers out of it.

3 to 5 times is a pretty tough goal. that's a LOT of juice.

Think something the size of a laptop battery, or bigger.

I have a small ~3500mAh battery that'll take me from dead to full with a little left over on a galaxy S4
