It's just a board that allows the phones connected to the system to interface with the PSTN.
Think of it as being similar in function as a gateway router in a data network. This is a very vague discription and not sure I can go into too much detail as I never did learn alot about the Northern Telecom stuff. I mostly have worked with the AT&T/Lucent/Avaya equipment. |

Manual Also, that card essentially provides for a pool of 4 analog connections to support connected units with caller-ID capability. |
