How did you diagnose the board being bad? When you get it back take pictures and post them online

I have not had problems returning things to Newegg.
And the LGA sockets these days... it can be quite difficult to see the misaligned pins unless you're really looking for them. It's also easy for it to happen, and depending on *which* pin, can cause many different problems. |

My friend took a look at it(Built several computers) Looked for bent pins after it would continuously BSOD thinking maybe I bent one. He didn't see any. Installed the CPU, and same thing. That when I took it all apart again, saw no bent pins, and boxed it up and sent it back.

We sent back a defective mobo that they tried to call damaged because some thermal compound got into the socket edge while we were removing the motherboard from the system. Our guy here quote, "got loud" with them and asked for "someone who knew what they were talking about". I would suggest a more polite, but firm, approach. NewEgg is usually pretty good about returns. |

It was being sent back to me as soon as they sent the email. Doesn't seem to be anything I can do. |

I bought some ink cartridges from them. They sent me the wrong ones. They made the return process such a hassle I will never buy from the again.

Three years ago I ran into problems during my first build. I had no idea if it was the motherboard or the cpu and Newegg took both back without issue and sent replacements. One of the pins was slightly bent.

Tell them thats how it came, and if they fight you, just charge back it on your credit card. You will win.

Wow, this is some serious bullshit. Somebody over there bent the hell out of several pins. There's no way and hell I would have missed this. I'm going to call them up tomorrow and bitch.
Edit: Serial number on Mobo doesn't match the box!! Someone's got some explaining to do |

I've had to make a couple returns to Newegg before and never had a problem. I hope you can get your problem straightened out.

If you had used a credit card you could simply send the payback and then performed a chargeback.

I had to do an RMA with them today. Ordered some ram and 2 of the sticks were dead. Just sent them back today, so hopefully I won't have a problem.

They can be shady. Sometimes you have to stick on their ass to get a response.

I've been a newegg customer for a long time. I've had to return a few things. DOA RAM, a LCD panel that UPS played kickball with, have not had any problems.
I know this doesn't help your situation much, but perhaps you were dealing with an asshole. They are generally EXCELLENT about customer service. |

About 2-ish years ago I went through three MSI 890fx boards because of their shitty 4+1 power phasing and terrible MOSFET quality. I kept blowing MOSFETs either out of the box or under any sort of an overclock. MSI wouldn't help me or acknowledge the fact their shitty product had been getting negative reviews due to this problem. Newegg exchanged two of the boards within my initial 30-day return policy period. The third was about 10-15 days outside of that period. After fighting with MSI over a refund, and refusing to accept another shitty board that would have suffered the same fate, I contacted newegg with that info and detailed the problem with the board. They went above and beyond to get my a FULL refund, no questions asked, when I then dropped on an ASUS CHIV. |

I've had to return several things to Newegg and never had a problem with them. Their customer service is one of the best that I've dealt with over the years.

OP, if what you're saying is true...that you didn't bend the pins and they're refusing a return...try mentioning BBB in one of your replies. That usually lights a fire under the ass of popular retailers because they really dislike negative BBB reports.
I still can't believe they're doing this to you, though. Newegg is very well known for their awesome CS and they've gone above and beyond to help out customers, including myself which I detailed in my last reply. |
