THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Wife unit has the Droid 3 (Got sucked into the Droid hype 2 mos before the droid 4 came out...) She hates it.

I see a bunch of Droid 4s, Razrs, etc on eBay.

Can I buy one and either move the SIM over to it, or go into the store and have them activate it with her acct info?

The Droid 3 doesn't have a SIM card I don't think. As far as I know only the Verizon 4G phones have SIM cards. So if you get a used 4G phone you will need to get a SIM card from Verizon and have them program it.

I may be completely wrong as my only experience with SIM cards is when I got my Droid Bionic and it came with one.

As I read further, I keep seeing phones with either "Good ESN" or "Bad ESN".

Once a phone has a "BAD ESN", can it be used on the Verizon network, or has it been blacklisted (Or some other term)?

Once a phone has a "Bad ESN", it cannot be reactivated on that network.

Yep, make sure it has a good ESN and the seller is reputable. I bought my dad a used Thunderbolt off of eBay and it was a good experience. I unboxed it, charged it and took it to the store. They swapped the 4G SIM out and had me in service in about five minutes, no surcharges or anything. Got the phone for cheap and no contract garbage.

Thank you!

A new question just hit me: If the phone has a good ESN right now, and the seller sells me the phone and then quits paying his bill, can VZ kill the phone even though it is now on my account? (Can it go from being a good esn to a bad esn even though it is on my account?)

The Droid 3 does have a SIM card, but it's not needed for Verizon's network.
