we picked up a new dell laptop yesterday from Wal Mart for basically surfing internet on the couch. since getting it going it has seemed to be excessively slow when loading an internet page,often not being able to load the page on the first try and also incomplete/partial pages when it does start loading, usually not fully loading a page until being refreshed a few times, been looking for causes but not sure what could be causing it, so any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

ETA-using internet explorer browser
wireless connection signal strength to our internet is excellent
here is the speed test results from www.freespeedtest.com -average speed was 14.9 Mbps

it is a Dell inspiron 15, here are the specs.

15.6" HD widescreen
Intel core i3-2330M processor Dual-Core, 2.2Ghz, 3Mb Cache
4GB memory
500GB hard drive

Try a different browser. There is probably so much Dell shit loaded into internet explorer that it's choking itself.

There is also a program called PC Decrapifier that will clean up most of the preinstalled Dell stuff. I used it on my new laptop a few years ago and it was a lot easier than formatting to get a clean install

never thought of that, I have a dell desktop I picked up last year that I put firefox on and have never had issues, if my wife uses IE on the desktop she starts complaining about the internet.I will download Firefox on to laptop and try, will report back tomorrow. Thanks!

New laptops are a lot of times downloading and installing windows updates in the background.. Leave it on overnight and let it finish

downloaded firefox, it is loading pages faster, and loading complete pages now, not sure what it was but it is now working like I think it should. Thanks!
