I just started "photography" about a month ago... Some of my most recent stuff. I'm still learning every day.

At one point I really enjoyed photography from the car guy perspective. This was back when the D40x was a bomb ass camera though. Work and other things got in the way and I've not made an attempt at anything aside from point and shoot with phone in many years. Suddenly HD cameras and drones have got me interested again and I'll be snatching up another decent DSLR and some decent glass as soon as possible. Until then, here are a few of my favorites over the years.

I finally got off my ass and started editing in RAW.  Doing one image a day.
The lens is a 30 year old Nikon 70-210 f4 AF.

PHOTOGRAPHY!

What a great medium.  Difficult to match the enjoyment of still images.

Got my very first DSLR camera last Friday (Canon T6i). I actually got it for video work with two YouTube channels but dang it if the photography part hasn't gotten a hold of me!
Took my son hiking in a state park the next day after getting the camera. Figured I would fool around with it in Manual to start getting the hang of adjusting the setting. This picture was one I took and it just melts my heart. I got Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC today and this picture has NOT been put through it yet, I almost don't even want to, as this picture as it sits, has sent me down the photography rabbit hole! And I just love it the way it is! Attachment Attached File

I think my current favorites are these two.  Something about the moment, time of day, sunbeams, and B&W just all came together.

Messing with the new (to me) camera. OM-D EM-5 MkII.  12-40mm F/2.8 Pro lens.  This is the 'grainy film' art filter. I don't usually mess with the filters, but the texture of the cushion on my couch looks pretty cool.

Here's a night sky photo I took last winter. I had to drive pretty far from the city to get away from the light pollution. I threw purple glowsticks down in the rock formations to light them up. I used a fisheye lens. I have a Canon T3i body. I wish I had a newer body, to reduce noise. I just have a cheap fisheye lens too so the color isn't as perfect as it would be with a $1000 Canon fisheye lens, probably. I didn't get the last star in the tail of the big dipper in the photo. I was either in the wrong spot or a half hour too late or too early. So that could have been more perfect. But this was fun to shoot. It was a cold night in Colorado, and the wind was blowing. The big dipper is resting right above a farmhouse. I drove an hour away from the city to get there. Then when I stepped out of the car, I gasped, because I could see the milky way and all the stars. It was amazing.

Kind of a neat shot I think.  There was a heavy band of smoke from a nearby brush fire that added lots of interest.
