UPDATE:
THERE IS A TIE AND WE NEED TIE BREAKING VOTES. I'll hold the voting open till Saturday morning. (maybe Sunday, I have a wedding Saturday and might not be able to check in. Please go to the Team thread and vote. I have three really, really cheap selfie lights that will be awarded to the winner of each class. The top three will be put up for vote and there will be a grand prize awarded to the best overall photo once the class prizes have been awarded. Here is photo of the grand prize. I could potentially be persuaded.
I don't have a room full of studio gear, and currently only own one flash, so either us poor folk need a special category, or the rules should be set so as to make us competitive in some way.

I think the rules should be based on uniqueness of the selfie itself, and not the technical merits of the entry.

Yeah, I though of that too, I'll just keep it here. Since we have enough people to have an actual contest. I'll offer up a prize. I came into a few old film cameras that I have no real use for, and the man who gave them to me (my wifes grandfather) said that I could keep them, sell them, or do whatever, so I'll offer one up. I haven't decided what one, but I've got an old Ensign Selfex 12-20 that I'm leaning toward. |

Also the dates aren't going to work for me. I'm leaving for the Philippines on the 3rd, the week leading up to that is going to be crazy. So, we either need to extend the dates, grant me an special circumstances exception, or write me out.

In regards to flashes, I have none. Literally 3 100w LED bulbs are my lighting. 5:1 reflector should be here friday though.

Lamps and bed sheets worked for me for a long time. I'd love to see what people who done have the gear can come up with to make due and compete. That said, I don't want people to feel like they are outgunned from the get go if they don't want to. |

I know it's about video lighting, but I got drunk and rambled about cheap lighting one night for one of the little youtube groups I'm in. Might be useful. Might not.
