They want to use one of my YouTube videos.

Communication is a bit slow due to the time difference but I don't want to sound like a complete idiot when I talk to them, what's the usual compensation for this sort of thing?

Outside the US? Don't worry, they'll just steal it.

It depends on the size of the company, what they are going to use it for and how many people they expect it to reach... or how much it's worth to you.

I'm pretty sure that YouTube falls under fair use--- Stephen Colbert stole one of mine a few years ago

A small clip with a link to the whole thing would be fair use.
