Bad news is that I had my MacBook stolen last week while shooting a music festival (never again, dirty hippies).

Good news is I upgraded!

17" MacBook Pro with 16gb of Ram is sweet!

What computers are y'all using?

Eventually I would love to go to a desktop platform but I can't sacrifice the mobility or justify two machines at this point.

I use a MSI laptop. i7, 16 gigs of ram, 3 SSD (2 in raid0 for boot/games/programs, 1 on its own for /users), 1 2TB platter drive for pictures, movies, downloads, stuff like that. Graphics wise, it's got a GTX 780m in it.

It works.

i7-4770K, 16GB, 2x GTX780, 2x 240GB SSD, 2x 2TB HDD

Not for imaging editing primarily, obviously...

My 17" MBP died on my this summer, that's why I bought a Mac Pro.

Just upgraded to a 15" MBP with Retina, 2.5 i7 16GB ram.

First mac, big learning curve.

Retina is beautiful, but for some reason images imported from my cameras and worked on within Elements 12 are soft, almost like missed focus, regardless of displayed image size.  Same images are nice and sharp on my windows desktop.

Probably a scaling issue. Elements might not support scaling properly.

Uhhhh yeah. Increased screen resolution is showing off all the flaws.

Not sure if serious...

What he is describing is exactly what happens when a program doesn't scale properly.

I'm waiting for Elements 14 and going to see if there is any difference.

"I had my MacBook stolen"

Why did you do that?

"I stopped and had my oil changed."  "I had my jacket dry cleaned."  "I had <something done>" always sounds like you precipitated the event.

"my MacBook was stolen" would probably be better.
