You know, my amateur attempt at putting a model into a real background really made me think about perspective and angles. It is incredibly difficult to make a small scale model look realistic with a 1:1 background. Something always looks just a little bit "off." I love how Michael Paul Smith utilizes small elements of the real background, like trees, to provide realism to the overall scene. Very, very clever.

Borrowing from a friend for an upcoming trip. So far this camera ruins every other camera I've used (and own). Take shots at 4000 iso and still have to zoom in to see noise. Incredible. I'm hoping to get some nice Aurora shots with it
