The 7D II is 20MP, 10fps, supposedly best high ISO performance of any crop body, will AF at f8 and is supposed to retail for about $1800.

This camera has the potential to steal D300 shooters away from Nikon rather than upgrading to the D750.  Many action shooters don't care too much about DX versus FX.  Plus, Nikon made the most critical mistake on the D750 by taking away the AF-On button, imo.

Also the MkII has a clear upgrade path for Canon users, but the D750 does not really other than it will cannibalize D610 sales.  It breaks the D700 series line with it's D610 like design. Nikon must want to sweep the whole D6xx series under the rug.  The D750 is basically a fixed D610, or what it should have been.

The other significant Canon differentiator is the 70-200mm f/2.8.  Nikon needs to fix the focus breathing issue on their over-priced one.

I pre-ordered the 7d MKI and I'm still shooting with it. Once it dies the MKII will be its replacement. Looks like its going to be a great body!

I might try to get one before my annual Spring trip to Yellowstone.

Okay Canon announced it - so when will it actually be released? ;o) (No hate, I'm a Canon shooter) ...

(I know I know - est. ship date is 11/18/2014) ... I'm surprised at the pricepoint - not a bad price for that cam, but I'm surprised they priced it as they did.

I'm more surprised at the price of the 400 DO at under 7K.

There are some high ISO samples from the 7D2.

I really needed it sooner. I was hoping it would have been here by now. Oh well, guess it will be a Christmas present to myself.
