Hey guys, I currently have a GoPro camera and a Canon Rebel.  I love both but am hoping to find something that can manage what I do with both cameras but in one package.

I use the GoPro for...
-kayak fishing
-snowboarding
-under water fish shots
-pics and videos in the middle of huge crowds (Music Festivals) where I am fairly inebriated.

Use the DSLR for....
-long exposure night shots (stars, painting with glowsticks, etc)
-Reference photos while hiking to bring into my studio for oil painting, charcoal drawing

So I guess I am asking for a impact proof, underwater capable, yet still able to mess with exposure and aperture settings...

Any help?  I can take both while car camping, but wont risk the Rebel at music festivals, or when pack space is small and doing trails

Sounds like the Nikon AW1 is right up your alley.

Tough camera, still has manual controls and interchangeable lenses.

Not quite a point and shoot, not quite a DSLR. The mirrorless fits somewhere in between.


Not sure if canon has a similar offering.
