Stopped into a local place this afternoon as it was right next to my barber.
Right inside the door were pelican cases. $194.95 for a 1500 with foam.  I Immediately turned around and walked out. I felt just like the simpsons GIF at the restaurant.
I can't imagine their prices on actual cameras |

Nikon and Canon use price controls, so those prices are not going to vary much from store to store.
