THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
For this Challenge we will tackle Food photography.

The rules:

Try not to recycle any images you have taken in the past. This should be new work done for this thread. If you do post photos from the past label them as such

I am going to limit each person to (3 photos max per theme) It is encouraged that you post just your top image.

Post your images in this thread using a host that won't have bandwidth issues if the photos get hit too much.

Keep photo sizes somewhat reasonable so that people on slower connections will be able to view the photos. (1024 x 686) max size (flickr large).

I will post another topic in around two weeks time.

Photoshop manipulation etc is ok

We have a very strong history here on Arfcom of dinner pictures but for this challenge reloads and measuring devices are optional. The focus is to take pictures that show off food. The traditional food photograph is usually a beautifully backlit still life with a nice dose of WD-40 for shine. But feel free to interpret the topic in any way that suits your artistic style. Have at it.

Nice... DOF is a bit shallow, makes the cream puff on the top out of focus, when it kinda appears to be the subject. I am expecting my first dSLR to be delivered to me on Thursday (Canon T2i with the 28-55 kit lens), and figure my first lens purchase will be the 50mm f/1.8 II. Not too spendy, but a nice lens.

Yeah I would have loved to have had the cream a little more in focus, the bokeh is nice but can be distracting at times...

Today's lunch
Ham and cheese with oil, vinegar, seasonings and hot pepper relish.

Need to work on my lighting better. Bounced the flash off the ceiling.

Little natural light on a Turkey Avocado Sandwich

Canon 10D
.025 sec (1/40)
f/1.8
50mm
200 ISO

50mm still leaves a shallow DOF. The sandwich was yummy either way

Your f stop at 1.8 produces a shallow DOF.
