A portion of all of those sales are scalpers, they literally bought up most of the stock of Switches in the Houston area the first month, multiple sources from people working at Targets, Walmarts etc confirmed this, they didn't see individual people buying each one, they'd see 1 or 2 people come in and buy their 12 or whatever they got in stock and leave, all I have to do is look at the Craigslist for the Greater Houston area at any time, half of the posts on the Video game section are Switches, I've seen pics of someone with like 50 stacked up in his garage. I'm sure in most cities it was the same.

Now I have not numbers to back this up and there's no possible way anyone could come to a guess on it, it's just being very active in the local gaming community it's what I and everyone else have seen.  Luckily stock is coming back, prices that scalpers are asking for are going down (because more stock is making it to all stores), so getting one is not that hard.

Having said that I really do like mine, but it was an impulse buy because I had a lot of cash on hand after selling off most of my retro collection so it was small change, and thought why not I'll see what the hype is.

Zelda is probably one of the best games ever made and will go down in history as such, I'm currently working through it on my Switch, daughter is about finished with it (and all side quests) on the WiiU.

yep, overheating being one of them,

granted I don't play mine in stretches of 10 hours like some people are with Zelda, but I can see that they didn't long-term test it with something graphics intensive like zelda in the dock and outputting to the HDMI.  I notice the heat is more prevalent when it's docked.

I haven't had the joycon issue either though so fingers crossed.

Switch or WiiU?

Walmarts and Targets.

I don't shop at Walmart so I don't know their delivery days, but Targets are usually Monday and Friday mornings.

I've seen them at Best Buy in the last month too, just only waited until I found one at Target so I could get my 5% off with the red card.

I have 3 3ds

Could care less about anything Microsoft offers.

Also have a Switch (scroll up) (and a WiiU).  Was just asking him what version of Zelda he bought.

I have both but have been playing the Switch version more cause I can sit it on my desk while I work.

Where did you hear about a new 3ds?  I'm usually up on any Nintendo news and I haven't heard anything.

It'd make little sense to release a new 3ds.

It's clear they're moving on and focusing solely on the switch.

There will be new games released as they have promised new games (already in the last Nintendo direct last week).  But beyond that it's all about the Switch.

Just saw in another thread in one of my gaming groups,

people are reporting similar warping/bending of the Nvidia tablet that has the same CPU/GPU that the Switch is using, looks like it might be an issue with Nvidia's hardware overheating and not Nintendo's.

Which means little as it's Nintendo's responsibility to thoroughly vet something like this.

Loving Mario Kart, daughter and I have been playing in online matches every night, it's crazy.
