Nothing was getting past them! damn impressive strategy, and worked great against our team because my guys would just run off by themselves. |

I've had pretty good success with Symmetra on defense, if the rest of my team is not 'tarded. On offense, I've been playing a lot of D.Va...boost-jet in, light someone up, boost-jet back out once they recharge, once the ultimate charges up, boost-jet then hit "Y" to eject and watch the fireworks. I've tried playing as McCree, but it is hard as hell to actually hit anything if people are moving quickly. Oh, and fuck "Player Of The Game: ANYBODY playing Bastion"! |

Best support hero IMHO I think, at this point, the only character that I haven't used is Zenyatta, and I want to - just never find the right time to bring him in a match I've tried him here and there and only done well once. The key is that you HAVE to have another support as he is really not a healer. He can actually be pretty devastating on offense with the orb of discord on the other team's tank and his alt attack is pretty useful if you can put an orb on an enemy bastion and get a fully charged burst on him. If there is an enemy hanzo or widowmaker running around zenyatta will be toast pretty quick. McCree is another one of those that is highly situation dependent I think. I've had the best luck with him either running behind a friendly rein and using stun to take an enemy dva or rein out of the fight long enough for the rest of the team to light him up, or running behind a friend roadkill and stunning any tanks he hooks since some people will hook a Reinhardt or dva then get chewed up. Soldier 76, pharah, and genji are all pretty solid solo but mccree is a little weak IMHO without a tank since he's not as mobile and a little squishier (but he hits the hardest). Really loving how much depth there is to even the simpler heroes. I had a couple matches last night where we were getting stomped and then just steamrolled the enemy team after 2 minor adjustments. |

For those that don't understand Zenyatta, he's a long range damage dealer with support abilities. The reason he isn't that great is because his ult doesn't mesh with his other abilities. It is also insanely hard to tell if you are under its effect.
He's my go to support but nobody knows how to play with him. At all. Every time I ult, the team runs away from me. He also dies in one hit from a fully charged sniper body shot. He needs armor under his shields. |

Well, the new patch came out...
...and everyone wants to play Ana. What people don't realize is that she is, above all, a sniper. If you are not good with Widowmaker, then you are going to also suck as Ana. I like the buff that they gave to D.Va; changing her barrier to a 1 second cooldown and a 10 second full reset gives her a lot more survivability. Now she will last longer against rapid-fire foes (like Roadhog) who used to simply wait until her barrier dropped, then would commence to wreck her whole day. Mei and Tracer are still her nemesis though. She is still really, really squishy when out of her mech...all I do then is drop WAAAAY back behind my team and spam her light pistol at anything that moves until I can call in another mech. |

I usually get stuck doing support but it's nice to have at least SOME healing if I need to do the tank's job for them on a push. I loved playing D.Va before the patch but couldn't ever make her work unless we were playing against some scrubs. The little tweaks to the shield and the ult timer has been getting me a lot of cards after the match. She's excellent at clearing the point now or stalling the other team on their way to the objective. I'm sure Blizzard is going to keep tweaks rolling but I think they've been doing an excellent job so far with keeping things more or less balanced. |

I'm really bad at this game, but I've had a lot of fun. Mindless fun, for the most part - I've approached Overwatch in that I shouldn't be thinking very hard about the game, just go out there and have fun. Which is completely counter-intuitive to how the game works - before playing it, I discounted the game as just another hop around arena shooter. It is quite deep in composing effective teams capable of winning.
Anyways, haven't tried Ana out yet. I come from a COD/BF/Destiny background, where the main task at hand for the most part is to go in there and kill. Ain't no tanks, healers, builders, etc. to mess with. As a result, I pick a guy like Zenyatta and think I can effectively fight on the front lines, and end up getting stomped out for it. Doesn't help that the mouse/keyboard skills have waned over the years, and I end up fiddlefucking keys when I need to do something important. I've had my best results playing attacking/offensive characters, like Reaper, McCree, or Soldier 76. And people playing Bastion - I hope you die in a grease fire. That is all. (not really, but a Bastion player holed up somewhere is a very frustrating thing to deal with) |

The few times I've had sucess with bastion in comp is if they have two tanks that need to be busted, I'll be able to kill the tanks but then a mcree, pharah, genji, etc will get me pretty quick. He still stomps in quick play though because nobody on the rest of the team really bands together to counter him unless you happen to be in a group. |

One of the things that they need to work on, IMO, is the maps. Some of the checkpoint maps favor the defense WAY too heavily. Hanamura, for example. If you have a Tobjorn, Symmetra, and Rhinehart that know what they are doing, and a Mei and a couple snipers or tanks, you can hold the first point easily. Route 66 is also a little broken. If the offense sets up right, they can bottle up the defense just outside the spawn. |

The game is obviously not perfect but blizzard seems to be listening to the community and implementing fixes for stuff pretty quick thus far |

with his recent buff, he's a total blast to play. Pharah is struggling now, though, sadly. |
