Just got to Africa, it's not full jungle but I like it compared to Afghanistan.

Just unlocked weapon customization, made a Fal/FNC/AK rifle just for shits and gigs.
I call it the TurDuckEn Rifle |

The legendary gunsmith kind of breaks the game in some regards. Basically the only reason to unlock higher tiers of weapons is to get certain features you want.

The trouble is that every little check mark on all the main missions and the side missions contribute to that percentage, so it is entirely possible to "beat" every main and side op and finish the game with only 40 something percent. There are no more new missions, only playing old missions trying to get all the crazy optional objectives just like Ground Zeroes.

He is pretty good at not giving away major spoilers. If you have quiet already it is worth a watch. |

Even with the stay command. |

The only real problem I've had with DDog is when fighting the skulls. If I alert them (which on some missions like traitor's caravan you can't help but alert them) DDog always always always gets taken out by the skulls and airlifted out, resulting in lowered buddy rating. Even if I tell him to stay somewhere out of the way he always seems to meander back into the AO I'm in fighting the skulls and get whacked.
Aside from that occasionally I'll be lying down lining up a sniper shot and he will wander in front of me, but I always notice it before I shoot. I've never accidentally shot him... yet. I always make sure he is out of my way if I'm using explosives as I've noticed he has a habit of lagging behind you a litlte bit if you are weaving around setting C4. I have to make sure he is next to me when I set off the charges otherwise he might be standing right next to the radar, radio or power box when it blows. |

View Quote The stupid "wait" command flat out doesnt work. I dont use him much because of that. When he screws up I kick the ever loving hell out of him or just shoot him dead and request quiet. At least I can put her where I know she will be useful. As for skull farming, dont lose quiet. Her upgraded 50cal and fact that whe only does head shots makes the skulls easy. |

You know one thing that this game got really right?
Throwing grenades. I like the mechanic they used, it feels fluid, not like you are a T-Baller trying to through a ball with a gameboy in your other hand. |
|
Does anyone else go around doing long distance hail mary extractions with the Dwalker ballista-fulton setup?
I farm the hell out of mission 8 with that setup for easy cash. |

I just completed the game.
Overall, for an MGS game, it was garbage. |

What mission is Ddog mature enough for you to use him as a companion?

That's why I stipulated "for an MGS game." At the risk of being a little too dramatic about it, the fact that Konomi released it in its current state is unforgivable. There is an entire chapter and ending missing. It's true that the gameplay is on point, so I am looking forward to Metal Gear Online. |

I heard it takes 6 main story missions for him to mature, and that missions 7,8,9,10 have to be in that number I think. I know DDog did not unlock for me until after I pulled Huey out. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Quiet is what, mission 11? But you can do them out of order depending on when you stumble upon Quiet. I did the Quiet mission before I did the honey bee mission. If you recovered D Puppy then count forward six main missions from that mission. I hear you are supposed to find him around mission 4, which puts his deployment readiness after you complete mission ten... Which if I remember right is that armored column mission with the hillside base.

If you fight her earlier, does she become available for missions earlier? View Quote I don't know the answer to that. I know her availability is triggered like DDog, once you "have" her you have to complete a certain number of missions before she will be available. And from what I remember there are one or two cutscenes you trigger when returning to Mother Base involving her before she is available as a buddy, and if I remember right you will get a call from Ocelot when she is available which triggers a mandatory side mission to go visit her. I myself did not unlock her until I made it to Africa. I also don't use her that much. I prefer DDog as I like to do the killing myself and his radar tracking ability is indispensable on some of the later high traffic missions when you have a base chock full of guys. |
|
I also prefer D-Dog. Once you use Quite long enough to equip her with a tranq rifle she becomes more useful. I'll go into a base and use her to tranq a majority of the enemies so I can fulton them out while keeping the Suppressor on my tranq pistol fresh.

Dwalker with the fulton arm makes farming so easy...
Wound up with about 12 APCs today while doing quick replays for cash. Long bombs on walkers is fun too. Has anyone found a way to replay completed side ops? I am pissed that i cannot go back to replay them. Maybe after a fully completed main story? |

MGSV is such an effing disappointment. I hope the person responsible for releasing it was fired.
