Downloading as we speak! I have no idea what to expect, but being part of a group sounds fun. I will follow the instructions posted here, hopefully I don't screw this up. My experience with PC games is skyrim and battlefield. I see some people have had to set their settings to low..what is everyone running for CPU and GPU? GTX770 and AMD 8350, we shall see how it works for me.

I got on just before you left. I got the hang of it now. It took forever to find the main compound but eventually I found the sign on the beach. The coordinates are roughly 52-Lat by 80-Long. The front door was locked, but you can get in the back. I stashed by character in a back corner, but I don't know he will be there. I didn't play solo player, went straight to the server so I don't know if it will save him. I don't care either way. I tried screen capping, but it wouldn't work. You guys are passed out under your beds haha. I think it will be a fun game now that I know the basics of getting food, fire, weapons etc. It crashed on me when I was going back to the main menu, and it crashed when I tried to get back into the server. Hopefully not a common thing. |

Picking this game up as soon as it hits flash sale. Only 3 more days of the great summer steam sale so there is about a 90% chance this thing is going to dip in price largely if they don't dip the price they are going to miss out on a lot of potential buyers. I have about 21 of the arfcom minecraft guys ready to FO on this as soon as it flash sales, I'm glad to see you guys are liking it.
About 90% chance when we get it we will just host our own server for it off the machine we have the minecraft server on since it's a powerful beast and can hold our numbers. I'll keep you guys updated. |

Hopefully not a common thing. Heh. Yeah, you can still get in with the doors locked, couple spots you can do that with. As long as you're in the complex you should be fine, though critters sometimes get (spawn ?) inside...so far just trikes, and other herbivores..well, couple dilos once, but they didn't last long with the pet carnosaur.. Better if you're inside the building, though. We've debated taking out some of the rock formations (many are destructible) and extending parts of the base...but, I think it's pretty neat the way it is. Though we may end up needing to in the future. When you're in, holler, if one of us is on, can get you into the tribe so you have access to stuff. I figure on doing a lot of hunting and foraging, today. Need to get some things stocked up a bit...raw materials, mostly. We've been using mumble for coms; faster than typing.

True, though seen some other interesting early access/alpha down around 60% off (7-10 dollar range). Though, I would doubt it with this one. Was worth the 25 bucks. Server down for update. Another patch came out right after 175 to fix a forced respawn bug. Waiting on server to fully update to 175.1 before turning it back on, ETA: 10 minutes or so, Probably less, just throwing it out there

This is what people on Ark think they are getting when they tame a T Rex
This is what most of us get after we shoot him full of opium and force feed him. Did have a fun time last night getting chased by a T Rex that surprised me. She kept chasing me around a big rock, then after a few laps we'd stop for a second or two, look around, then start the chase again. Only thing missing was the Benny Hill theme. |

Allowing the locks/pins allows you to keep a personal stash. If you go out and work hard to make something and you don't want someone to just take it, you can now keep it locked away. Such as firearms. Right now it takes a lot of work to make one. It's not easy. Now you have a way to keep some metal stashed away, or your firearms locked up so it doesn't vanish. I wish we could allow it to stay the way it was and keep locks personal, but we can't. If we want personal locks, the personal buildings have to be set like this unfortunately. If we decide later we don't like it, or it gets abused, we can fix it by removing it. That being said, server is live version 176. Tamed 4 more Raptors....found out they weren't as badass as my other Raptor that died.
2 hits from a level 1 Carno completely destroyed one of the Raptors. The remaining 3 came out nearly dead. 4 Raptors, 1 Carno vs Level 1 Carno.... I need to boost their HP now lol. That and go find another male so I have the mate bonus.... |

So am I missing something here....every time I die I lose everything I had in my possession? I crafted a storage box, but it would not let me store it in the compound. I'm going to get really sick of making storage boxes and constantly putting stuff in them to prevent losing them if I die!

Im pretty sure you can place it on the ground, but without being in the tribe you won't be able to do anything on the tribe stuff. Once you're in, anything inside the tribe buildings you can build on. But to answer your question, yes, when you die you lose everything on your body. You gotta run back to grab it. You so mad. |

After a bit, you get into the habit of keeping track of where you're at, semi-consciously and, it gets easier. That said, I've lost some decent stuff when there was no way to recover my bod (Lava hot ). In the process of making extra gear sets for myself at the primary base and, southern base (that I'm making good progress on).
Got into some nasty fights travelling back to the southern base, died twice...both times expecting my pet Carno to be dead (4 raptors and a carno first fight; 2 trikes and 3 armored turtles the second fight) only to get back to my body to find him fat, happy, and wondering why I wasn't moving. Been ambushed half-a-dozen times down south and Cornelius has saved my arse every time.

I really don't see what the butthurt about the daily deal is all about. It shouldn't be on the daily deal, but it is and its getting free advertisement, so what. It's a good game, buy it. If you're wanting a good game, you're going to have to pay something. It's $25, it's not like its $60.
It's 2 weeks released as early access alpha. Why do people expect it to suddenly get a huge discount over an already 17%? Server coming back online. Should be join-able in a few minutes. Server up! |

It's been 29.99, regular price, since I first saw it listed a couple weeks back. It was released to steam on the 2nd, went to 24.99 when the sale started, as far as I know and recollect. It's been well worth the price, so far...even with the various issues it still has. Updates are frequent, sometimes 3, or more, a day. Not everyone likes the price and that is fine, if it had been 30, or more, I'd of likely passed on it. <<shrugs>> |

I already found that compound...if you use east spawn 2, it actually puts you very close to that compound. I didn't know if there was another compound you guys have built. So I need to be in the compound for you guys to do it? I have a storage box on the hill behind the compound, right next to a tree. I need a place to put a bed and sleeping bag.
