Bethesda will end their conference with a live demo of fallout 4 and everyone will go nuts. |

Lol no View Quote Out of curiosity, when did you play it for the first time? When it first was released in 2004 on the PC, the technology (physics in HL2, NPC behavior in Episode 1, etc.) was pretty groundbreaking and impressive, the graphics were top notch, and the story did a lot of unique things too. But within a couple of years, everyone else had adopted the systems and it wasn't unique anymore. I find that people who played it when it first released generally tend to have much higher opinions of it than people who bought it years later as part of the Orange Box when the tech and story and graphics weren't as one-of-a-kind anymore. It's less impressive when everyone is doing it. By the time the OB came out the base game was already 3 years old. |

Played Half-Life when it first came out, one of the best games ever, considering when it was made. Obviously bought HL2 as soon as it was released, and it didn't hold a candle to the original. It was neat and pretty tech demo, but not a very good game. It was as if someone created the gravity gun and decided to design a mediocre game around it. Not a bad game, but not a great one. I bought the Orange Box years later when I was bored and had forgotten about my lukewarm reaction to HL2. I immediately regretted my decision. |

I played HL2 on release day... or more precisely I was one of the guys waiting hours on end for Steam to validate on release day.
It was a good game, but I think it is a solid case of "rose colored glasses" for a lot of people. It did a lot of stuff right, but for me personally it has zero replayability... once it was finished I didn't want to go back and play it again. Especially those extended (and BORING) driving sequences. Ravenholm was the shit but it just doesn't have the same feel or impact the second and third time through. But lets get back to the FALLOUT. I hope they keep the wide variety of weapons and additional gameplay elements from New Vegas. Hardcore mode laika boss. |

View Quote I really hope they expand the reloading and weapons customization elements. They also need to have some way that it is tempting to be bad, I always end the games with extremely positive karma, there is just no incentive to be bad. Perhaps they could make evil karma benefit you in ways that are more profitable. Being able to extort the shop owners for "protection" would be interesting. |
